Any word on the next group buy?
x2 on that... @VanGo Any word on the next group buy?
If not, does anyone know if there is any other vendors that are still fabricating any spare tire carriers that are stock bumper friendly? I can't seem to find any current... Thanks

I exchanged several messages with Josh (AJIK) back in Sept/Oct 2015, and was expecting "my" carrier to be ready for shipment around Halloween. I haven't heard anything from Josh since the first week of October, so I suppose I'm overdue in following up with him.

Bump - if there's a group buy coming out quickly, I'd jump on a passenger-side one, now sub'd.

This was in my "inbox" this morning:

Wits’ End Acquires AJIK Overland Exchange

West Hills, CA – Mar 4, 2016 – Wits’ End™, manufacturer of off-road and overlanding accessories catering to the Toyota Off-Road community, announced today it has acquired AJIK Overland Exchange, a company long-known for promoting the sport of solo and family vehicle dependent travel, connecting local off-road and overland enthusiast to community and encouraging regional support.

Wits’ End, with its acquisition of AJIK Overland Exchange, now provides safety, storage and electrical accessories along with the overloading product offerings from AJIK Overland Exchange. AJIK Overland Exchange’s product line has become synonymous with ease of use, great design, affordability, and durability. In acquiring AJIK Overland Exchange, – Wits' End enhances its in-house prototyping and design capability, and the opportunity to further expand its R&D projects. Physically, the inventories will combine at the Wits’ End headquarters in West Hills, CA and will culminate this week.

“As a complimentary business, we have always had great respect for AJIK Overland Exchange and their achievements. The complete compatibility and lack of redundancy between the companies has made this an ideal acquisition, strengthening the Wits’ End position to provide some of the most unique security, safety and overlanding solutions to the market. Perhaps the greatest benefit of this acquisition will be to the shade tree mechanic who will now have an unprecedented amount of tools and supplies tailored to meet their specific needs.” -Joey Romero, Founder of Wits’ End.

“You cannot believe the level of excitement we all share, but it’s not just us that are so elated. Some of our key customers and partners that were recently made aware of this deal have shared in this excitement, as they all understand the benefit this will have to their projects and excursions”, -Josh Vanderford, Founder of AJIK Overland Exchange.

The acquisition promises to be smooth and seamless in order to be sure that both legacy and new customers can still get access to the products they need. At the time of this release, the majority of the AJIK product line offering will have transitioned to the Wits' End website. Any links, bookmarks and searches that previously went to the AJIK Overland Exchange website will soon be redirected to the Wits' End site.

Nothing like a STEEPLY DISCOUNTED GROUP BUY to kick off the new partnership :beer::beer: - congrats!

I'm ready to buy today!
Been waiting forever
Can we start a list?

Haha! The timing of your post couldn't be any funnier. I just got off the phone with the fabricator about exactly this. He and I worked out a lot of details and it's perfect because I won't need to baby this one so I can concentrate on other product developments.

So, starting now I need to get a list going of everyone who wants one, need to know right or left. Payments would be half up front as deposit and remaining half due on delivery day. More details to come but for right now I need to know how many. Also, so we are on the same page, NOTHING starts until April 2nd because he's going on vacation end of March. So keep this all in mind.

Put me down for one on the DS. Any chance we can get it bare steel at a further reduced price?

Final pricing and final specs are being determined. There are logistical issues that were remedied with AJIK being local to the fabricator. I don't have that luxury so certain things will need to be bore by the fabricator. Once I get final pricing I will detail to you all along with any spec changes and we'll take it from there.

Would an option for adding a ladder swing out on the other side be possible? Or would that add too much weight for the mounting configurations?

That was discussed but it's not something that could/should be done in conjunction with the tire carrier at this time...production-wise I mean
