Wondering if enough people request a quality aftermarket long body free wheel hub cruiseroutfitters might be able to have them reproduced??

We could certainly get something spooled up... BUT... it's super easy to swap to the much more common 1979+ birf and hub variant. Asthetics is 100% the same (only an uber trained eye would notice the hub length difference). The 1979+ birf is much, much, much more common, available in stock, 4340, 300M, etc. You're about 200x more likely to encounter a spare in the field with the 1979+ birf too. Lastly, the cost to make the long body wouldn't be too far off the cost of the standard body (say HUBFHT008) and our Japanese birf (FAXT60016JP).

That said, I'm willing to explore it :D

A new production Tall/Long body free wheel hub to fit the 80 series would be well received, particularly if it was made in Japan.

Aisin still sells hubs with their name on them prominently. ASCO is/was the Aisin Seiki Company. The ASCO name was on the OE long-body hubs; the ASCO name appears in the City Racer photos and the hubs are described as reproductions.

In the past two years the market has been flooded with Chinese copies of Aisin hubs that omit either name, and are likely not made with either the same materials or precision. The name is likely omitted on these Chinese copycats due to enforcement by Aisin. I would think Aisin would do the same for any copycats not made by them with the ASCO name as well.

The question to be asked is: are the new ASCO long-body hubs being made by the Aisin company using the same materials and construction as the originals, or are they made otherwise? A factory in China COULD make the correct product, as Apple has demonstrated quality control is possible under their auspices and oversight.

Perhaps Roger will comment here.
I don't try to get into every internet conversation, but since a couple of acquaintances have asked, I'll jump in. I'll state the facts known to me, so the intention is not to challenge.

Based on City Racer's sales records, I can find no record of these hubs being shipped to the location of the poster (Colorado) as of the date of that post.

As of today, we've not received any warranty claim for these hubs. We've sold many, including several sets to Land Cruiser shops both in the US and in Europe.

The City Racer hubs are made to the same material standard and hardness as OEM. We oversaw these productions and welcome anyone to undertake a lab test to verify.

The poster stated that after installing Aisin he didn't have any problem. Are we comparing apples to apples here? Aisin doesn't make long body hubs anymore. He must have switched to '79+ birfs with the standard Aisin hubs. Observing the pics of his modified full sized rig with oversized tires doing hard core off-roading, there's no guarantee OEM long body hubs would've stood up to the abuse. The 80 Series application is an adaptation to begin with. If he showed his adaptation + modification + usage to Toyota, they won't warranty it.
