From reading the previous posts, it looks to me that HZJ60 may not have meant to be quoting you when you were talking about the o-rings back there.

I figured he was responding to my numbers. For me, replacing the guts was not optional. This diff was 35 years old with questionable bearings and gears. Plus, it still had the course splined pinion. Considering I'm up "upgrading" to a double-cardon shaft off an FJ60 I needed to install a fine spline flange (read H55F and spring over). While the bolt pattern doesn't match on the elocker, it does have the round flange that I can drill to match.

I agree with ya Ben, why tear into this and not do it right (with the ARB). The elocker was cheaper, period. Yes, you might be able to pick up an ARB for $600, but the best price I could find was $650 plus shipping or tax. Add the compressor, gears, install kit, and the setup labor (plus shipping and tax, and remember New Mexico taxes labor) and the ARB was more expensive and a greater headache on my part vs. purchasing a completely set up diff from CDan (tax yes, shipping no). And that mystery long spline shaft was only $200.

I know several folks with ARB's, and it seems they are always having problems. Between bad relays and leaky seals, no thanks. The elocker in my mini worked great for several years. Why would I want to install a more complex system?
