Things are taking a little longer to get assembled/figured out than I had hoped, hardly surprising... I just sold my "spare" truck though so I am "flush" with cash. All that to say I am looking to finalize my decision on the transfer case this next week and make the purchase, I'm really beating a dead horse here I know but I hate buying things twice. The tr4050 is a 23 spline output, so I've been tossing around the idea of buying a np241c and then doing a slipyoke eliminator (Tom Woods?). All-in I'm figuring that'll be about half the cost of an Atlas, of course I'll have to change my drive shafts but I can have that done locally. 4050 1st gear is 6.16:1, 241 low is 2.72:1 and my axles are 4.56; total crawl being 76.4:1.
Currently of course I have like 119:1 with dual cases, but I am trying to get additional usability out of the truck. So I view that as a compromise...
Am I off base? I don't really have anyone to bounce this off of so fire away.

The Atlas is the option I decided to go with, the build quality and knowing it will likely last nearly forever behind my tired vortec is what tipped the scale for me. I could certainly have saved quite a lot of money going with another option. Unfortunately AA has quite a lot of orders so they told me it likely wont arrive until December sometime.
In the mean time I am going to begin unraveling the wiring issues that I created for myself about 8 years ago when I first started in on it. My brother recently bought an 80 series with f/r lockers so the pressure is on to get mine back on the road.
