hey guys, new to the cruisers and forums, just bought a new to me 2000 LX470 with 100k miles on it, and recently encountered an issue with the AHC, my front end is sagging and the ahc works intermittently, but when it does it still goes up to full height, i got techstream working and got the values, and was hoping the experts here could shed some light on it, have attached the specs i pulled below. figured it was just the globes that needed replacement due to age but i’m getting 10 graduations when the ahc works. I have yet to actually inspect the sensors cause the PO didn’t leave me the wheel locks, so i can’t get the wheel off yet, will update when i do

Did you read the post "AHC maintenance"?
Do a search ad you will be busy reading for a while. Lots of info.

i did read through the entire thread, and that’s kinda the issue i’m running into, is that the values don’t match up, and when it functions it is perfectly in spec, did a bleed and fresh fluid, but i’m struggling to figure out why it intermittently works, cause the sensor values don’t add up, and i’m not getting any pressure readings even with the temp sensor disconnected, and the linkages seem to be intact

Or read this?
And you should watch this.

Just about any shop will have the keys for wheel locks. There's only a few designs of them.
i have read through the abcs of ahc thread, did the flush and got to the measuring, and have seen the video but i’m just trying to figure out the intermittent functioning, cause im not getting pressure readings, and i can’t cycle from high to low to finish the second part of the process, but that’s a fair shout for the wheel locks i didn’t even think about the shop having them, i was just trying to order the right key 🤣

It almost looks like an electrical issue.

The intermittency might stem from a too big difference between the two front height sensors' readings. The height adjustment will not work if wheel heights don't "add up". You might have a broken sensor, or a cable to one, or a link/arm.

Globes' graduations reading can be done only after you get the heights and pressures right, so leave that to later. (although, if they are as old as the car, they're prolly up for replacement)

Mine are still original, from 2002.

In that pic FR Height is negative and FL Height is positive. The rear one is at 0.1.
And ALL the pressures are zero.
Was that pic taken with the system off or in L?
It needs to be in N (and hold that) for the pressures/heights to be read properly on techstream. (at least to compare to spec)

Fix what is wrong with the sensors first.
Maybe a broken or malfunctioning sensor.
Maybe a broken bracket or arm.
Or at least confirm those are good and working right.

Get under there and check them if they are loose or stuck or broken. Hopefully its one of those.

update, this seems to be the right track, those measurements were with the truck in Normal height, i think the side that’s reading negative is in fact fine, the front left side sensor is not changing values regardless of height so i think it’s toast, waiting on a replacement oe one to install and confirm, but all those measurements were vehicle running and ahc in neutral positions, gonna figure out the pressure reading issues once the sensor is sorted
