I’m looking for a little bit of help. None of the gauges work on my 71 FJ 40. As a stop gap solution I want to put in an aftermarket temperature and oil pressure gauge. I grabbed what looked like a decent one from Summit Racing and I am struggling to make it fit.

The engine in my 40 is a ~1981 FJ 60 2F block with a ~1989 FJ62 cylinder head.

Any solid advice on how to either use my existing aftermarket Bosch gauges, or direct me to buy something that easily fits?

I really appreciate the help.

Does your head have the holes towards the rear that the F and 2F used for their temp senders?

So I doubt your senders will screw right into the toyota block locations, but maybe. The block threads are british pipe tap. There are adaptor that would have the threads for your senders

It appears you might have mechanical gauges with American threads, so you'll need adapters to mate sae to metric thread.

Really simple. Install 1971 area oil pressure and coolant temp senders into your 3FE, hook up wires, party on

3FE has coolant sensors in the thermostat housing. You can probably even split the signal of the 3FE temp gauge sender to the 40 cluster and it work fine. All then senders are really close in OHM/V range
