I am replacing the rear window (the back, upper hatch) in my 80. The broken glass is removed. Beno has supplied me with a new OEM weatherstrip that has been relaxing in the sun for a couple days.
Question: what do I use to clean/remove the old glass sealer on the body and what good shall I purchase to reseal it?

P.S. The FSM has basically the same directions for this piece of glass as the front windshield, FWIW.

Replaced two of them recently. Almost no sealer remained on hatch so only used a razor blade to tidy it up. Used GoJo hand cleaner to live up gasket for install. No sealer required. Both rigs are dry as toast, and YES , it does rain in Arizona!

Part number for that gasket, if you don't mind?

Liftgate.....
Glass w/o solar reflector
68131-60290
Glass w/solar reflector
68131-60150

Edit because I was wrong 3 times!
Both were missing digits and missed the part about needing gasket number. Oops and Oops.

Thank you! What is the solar reflector? Is that the spoiler on the back?

Quick thread jack:
I'm transferring glass from a lift gate without a spoiler to one with a spoiler. Is that going to make a difference?

For 96, i show the gasket to be 68291-60050

the numbers above are for the glass (although both pns listed there are missing digits), not the weatherstrip
