The (Philips) screwdriver needs to reach well down into the bigger hole in your third picture. Goes in probably 4" or so. If you shine a light in that hole you might be able to see the screw.

Have you tried techstream and a level floor to park on to recalibrate your headlight levels. Since recalibrating my 2018 after my lift I have been pleased with the aim. Techstream leads you through the process. No screwdrivers needed. They are auto adjusting headlamps. The (Philips) screwdriver needs to reach well down into the bigger hole in your third picture. I haven't, I haven't had access to tech stream. And when I asked some other folks they looked at me like an a******....despite what I was told here. At this point its oncoming drivers problems the once a month I drive the truck. Maybe at lcdc it'll get sorted out.Have you tried techstream and a level floor to park on to recalibrate your headlight levels. I still haven't figured mine out, even with the TJM set-up. I don't know if it's the linkage, adjusting the screws or something in techstream, I've heard all 3.I cannot get mine to work correctly on my 2018 with an Ironman lift.
Can someone, or multiple someones, please post photos of their setup so I can see what I am doing wrong. I will crawl under my truck and take a photo of two as well.
Thank you.
I drove for a couple of hours in the dark last night and I know I was blinding people. I felt really bad.I still haven't figured mine out, even with the TJM set-up. I don't know if it's the linkage, adjusting the screws or something in techstream, I've heard all 3.
If I recall correctly, the headlights only self check if the sensor is actually changed. ie. The rotating arm is either moved up of down. I do not believe they auto self check every time you start the vehicle.off topic - does anyone know how I can get my auto leveling self check for the headlights to start working again?? Used to happen when I would start the truck. Now, no more.
Thank you for the photo. I will use it as a reference for mine.![]()
The bottom bolt is a fixed bracket, the top bolt is on a rotating arm. The higher the arm (the more extended the link) the lower the headlights will aim. The lower the arm (the shorter the link) the higher the headlights will aim. As you can see I'm using the carb link posted earlier instead of the TJM. I have it extended pretty far (maxed out now) as well as slid to the top of the fixed bracket to make the adjustment arm at the top pushed as high as possible. That lowers my beams as low as they can go which happens to be in line with the tape mark I had placed on my wall at OEM ride height. The adjustment is not as fine tuned as you may think, with a 2.5-3" lift I pretty much have this extended an inch or maybe even more over the stock length linkage to get my beams lowered enough. It took a lot of trial and error; I'd put it on see it barely moved, pull it off, adjust it, put it back on, rinse and repeat until it was where I wanted it. I'd turn my lights off, pull the link off make my adjustment and reinstall, then turn on the vehicle power, turn lights on manually, you can watch them move if the adjustment was enough. If it's not moving, you likely need to extend it more
Edit: I tried to throw the calipers up there and it's pretty close to 4.5" center of bolt to center of bolt.
I use a MacBook Air as my laptop of choice for techstream. If you go to the techstream thread, there is a download for Apple that works beautifully in that environment. You actually run a version of windows inside of apples macOS. It’s been a great solution for me. Every once in a while, there’s a few things I have to learn to keep it working. The techstream thread has been invaluable for answering all those questions for me.Thank you for the photo. I will use it as a reference for mine.
Now to jack up the truck and get under it to make the changes.
I wish I had Techstream, but I am a Mac user and do not have any Windows laptops around the house. I was hoping a Microsoft Surface tablet would work, but I have not tried.
Techstream runs natively on windows computers so if that’s what you have you’re all ready to go. Just need to go to the techstream instructions on this forum and download the files they recommend.Looks like I'll have to get my hands on a laptop....not a Mac user, is this gonna be a problem? I'll need a cable too won't I?
I'm on windows 11 iirc and it's unfortunately not as straightforward as it was on my old techstream only laptop that ultimately took a sh*t like most of my PC laptops do at the 4 yr mark.Techstream runs natively on windows computers so if that’s what you have you’re all ready to go. Yea, unfortunately I'm computer illiterate, so its a slow and time consuming process. It's a windows laptop, or acer notebook, not sure what windows version on the laptop. I'll try a looksy tomorrow when I can actually dedicate time to itI'm on windows 11 iirc and it's unfortunately not as straightforward as it was on my old techstream only laptop that ultimately took a sh*t like most of my PC laptops do at the 4 yr mark.
They should adjust when you turn the car off and then back on.So I'm back to the headlights thing. 2018 LC.
A. The lights don't auto adjust. Don't remember if they ever did.
B. I have the TJM linkage, though when I'm trying to adjust anything, it doesn't seem like anything is happening. Truck is running, lights on, but when I move the arm up and down, the lights don't move.
C. I haven't had access to TechStream so I haven't been able to use that.
So I'm really just beat at this point.
