This is a good possibility.
I've got an 80 series that came from Maui and it doesn't have a rear heater or the port installed roof rack. The VIN doesn't show up in some of Mr. T's databases.

This is true of the LS430s sold in Hawaii too. Odd options and the VIN doesn't show up in the database.

I believe there's your answer - It was originally sold in Hawaii.

Headlight washers are whatever, but i would make sure that your are ok with a vehicle from Hawaii. Might be better off serarching Lexus CPO vehicles than Carmax.

I also no see something else weird. The original title wasn't issued until 2106, but the LX had 15k miles on it? However, when I called the local LX dealer, they said I had about a year and 8K miles left on the original bumper to bumper warranty. Can't figure that out.

I believe if it was used at the dealership as a loaner vehicle or a demo, then it doesn't get titled until the first owner is assigned.

Interesting. The service records are impeccable. They followed all the factory recommendations. Unless it appears it was wrecked in the front and the bumper replaced, I think I will by it, but I do think a small discount is fair under these circumstances.

Well, I picked it up today. Windows wouldn't go down, which made me mad until I realized there were armored. Popped the hood to find two turbos staring at me. Has a sub tank and something that looks like it might drop tacks and spread a smoke screen. If you touch the door handle without a key in your pocket it shocks the hell out of you. I got them to knock off three grand for the window "problem". Will post pics tomorrow.
