Following … I don’t think Landcruiser Phil is still making that kit so I’m going this route. I live in a very hot climate and this truck has never really been able to run cool while idling for very long, even after changing pretty much everything related to the cooling system. If I got front and rear AC on full blast and I’m waiting in line at the border to cross, after about 45 minutes to an hour, my temps creep up to 215 and I got to shut it down.

Waiting on the last few parts to do this install. For anyone that has done this mod and not drilled/installed the bracket support on the left side of the fan - any long-term issues leaving the red circled mount hanging??

It’s an older post but I’m replying.
This shouldn’t be happening.
This mod isn’t designed to control the vehicle’s coolant temp or engine temperature, that should be taken care by the vehicle’s cooling system of an 03’ and up perfectly fine, if it’s creeping over 200 deg then you have a problem that needs addressing.
I did this mod using an aftermarket fan and a relayed connection to the ac pressure valve, it works great, turns on only when extremely hot outside (10 months out of the year here) and helps moving air around the condenser, which lowers the ac air temp in the cabin by a bit, but my ac and my coolant temp were fine before the mod too. Just makes me feel a bit better to have a constant air movement even after I shut off the engine.

Also, since I have a small Freon leak somewhere that I didn’t find yet, and need to refill every 6 months or so, the fan won’t work when low on pressure, so it’s a guide that lets me know when it’s time to refill.. luckily at work we have one of those professional ac machines that does the whole job in one sitting, evacuates, vacuums and refills by itself in a few minutes, and it’s free😎

I did this mod on my 98 because my winch controller blocks part of the AC coil. I used all oem parts off a 99 at a salvage yard and wired it into the main fuse box ( that was a pain.). Zero issues with the fan mounting and it works perfectly
