Hey, nice rig. Does the AC work? Let me know if you want to get rid of the wooden wheel.

Hey, nice rig. Does the AC work?.

Compressor doesn't come on, so probably low on poison. Haven't looked into it much. Never been much for ac.

Let me know if you want to get rid of the wooden wheel.

If....IF I want to get rid of it?? I never want to see that gawdamn diminutive piece of s*** ever again.

Man thats a piece of s***, give ya half what you payed..:moon::flipoff2:

Nice rig Ryan. I think you did well on that. Bit of rust work and TLC and you have a winner. 12HT is such a great motor.

Hopefully the useless previous owners at least kept on top of oil changes.

Nice that you had shancerlelby come through with the clutch slave. Sounds like a real great guy; rare breed these days.

Looking forward to seeing it at a meet sometime.

I'd tell you to kiss my ass, but you'd use tongue.

Yeah, I doubt they were as often as they should've been, but it still runs clean and isn't using any, I'll give it a second change pretty soon I think.

Oil still looks new...think I may keep it and put it in my lawnmower... Not like a 3b, where it's black as Thatcher's heart after 30 seconds.

Lots of little things to take care of....as for the rust, Yeah I guess I'll do something about it. The debate is , whether to LHD this truck, or to just chuck the lump into an 80 or something in a year or two. Might actually be easier.

And yes, shancerlelby's cruiser karma is fully topped up.

Oil still looks clean? Is that more typical of direct injection engines because of a more efficient burn or something? That's pretty cool. My 2LTE is like a 3B, I change the oil, and it's black again the second I start it.

I guess if you treat the rust at least it'll progress much slower. My LJ is starting to need some rust attention too. I'll have to get on it before it's too late.

It has the PTO box still, but no winch or shaft to the winch. Probably fine with that. pto winches are kinda sketchy anyways. I'll have to think of something cool to do with the pto box tho. Maybe drive a compressor with it or something.

I always thought it would be cool to put a hydraulic pump on the PTO and run a hydraulic winch and maybe other hydraulic accessories... Not sure if it's possible, just an idea.

Yeah, you can barely see it on the dipstick....bizarre.

The biggest issue with the pto right now, is that it's a front output ...and with the exhaust on that side, there's bugger all for room.

I remember seeing a thread somewhere in which someone swapped one over to be a rear pto...might've been the king of the internet tho, and the thought of searching through his posts fills me with the urge to defecate.

Probably easiest to just pick up a stock winch, but if it's there, I'm gonna have to use it for something. With the spinning output, you should be able to run just about anything off it. I like the idea of a compressor.

I'll do something to the rust for sure,it's more a question of how intense I get about it...:hillbilly:

On the bright side, I snugged up the rear pinion flange a wee bit and added a dab of locktite to it, changed the oil and added some lsd potion to it. So far, just idling around the yard, no bangs. So, I may be able to put finding a 411 into the "soon but not immediately" to do list...

Also removed the front porch and ss bush guard. Mel won't be thrilled, but I couldn't take the gayness anymore...another few days of that thing, and I'd be trying out to be a volunteer fireman or something.

So, on another note, what the hell is this thing? there's one on each side by the batteries.

You must be off today... :wrench:

You had me curious with the Gee-System thing. Hard to find info on the interwebs, but there are a few modules similar to that on Ebay that are 'headlight boosters'. Sort of makes sense given the 'H4' 75W/70W on the label of yours.

Ha, not off, just on PM shift this week. So I can mess with the truck in the mornings, then surf the internet while allegedly working in the evenings...

They are something to do with lights, it did have a couple of driving lights on the bush bar...

Didn't quite have time this morning to go get plates for the truck. I'll do that tomorrow, and then take it for a burn and see how improved things are...(if at all )

Save me the wheel then, I'll grab it when I get home

Sans front porch, and the grill was all peely and s***ty so I just hosed it down with some flat black.

And being newly plated, I took it for a test burn. Vastly improved...no rear end clonks, and no death wobbly steering.
The giant 40 series wheel is rather nice in a 60. Easy to reach with your fingers with your arm resting on the door or in lap. Perfect for a lazy sob.

So, with the rear end being quiet, I'll throw a new pinion seal in there in the next couple of days, and double up on the locktite to keep things tight. I only put a test dab on there to see if it was ok, same reason I didn't bother with a pinion seal...

Crap, that looks so much better with a normal bumper. Glad to hear the rear end is better now. Can you feel the LSD working at all? Out of curiosity, what is the diff code (from the under hood ID plate)?

I forget, k084, k085? Translates to 411 lsd anyways.

And yeah, I can sorta feel it. Tight corners are a little more lurchy than with a totally open diff. definitely felt it engage when it was still loose...felt like a sacked old lockrite. Kinda surprised at how much smoother it is. Way easier to shift the truck without a 1/4 turn of driveline slop.

I'll get around to building a couple proper bumpers for it at some point. Next is a set of tires and then I'll see if I can avoid spending money for a while...:bang:

Might have to knock together a quick sleeping platform, we're going camping at bamfield next weekend.

looks way better without that terrible front bumper. build a park bench out of it? Awesome to help you guys and meet you! if i knew you wanted a different wheel i could have brought one and swapped it out on the roadside!

Ha, yeah there's a few parts I could've used...in a perfect world I'd have had a day to work on the truck before a drive like that...but it all worked out in the end.

Definitely more cold beer for you around here when you make it back to the island...

Bit of a 4 steps forward, .5 back day today...I'll take it as a net gain.

I picked up some 31" at's, and had them mounted on some white steelies...turns out, one rim is kinda bent, and the weights they put on would have made a mess of things up front if I hadn't noticed them interfering before dropping the truck. Meh.

Took the inner weights off up front, and they do clear, but I'll be looking for a set of stock cruiser rims. Still drives 100% better than it did on the scary old yoko onos (the resemblance is quite remarkable...old ,dry, cracked, skinny, awful noises).

No vibes even without the weights. So, all in all, Meh.

Interesting to see how much closer the speedo is now tho.

And got my stereo installed...ghetto admittedly as I need some of the bracketry to hold it in properly still, but it works with an mp3 player so I'm free from the plague of listening to the radio.

and a little crappy tire el cheapo solar panel to keep up with the memory drain... the narrow ones fit quite nicely in front of the windshield and behind the hood on most cruisers.

nice having all that s*** sitting in a drawer...:grinpimp: I have an autometer pyro in there too, but it may be pooched, and it's a bit of a bugger installing one pre turbo on a 12ht, at least without disassembling a bunch of crap I don't feel like disassembling right now.

And now, I have a fridge full of beer, and I'm going to drink most of it. It's been a loooooooooooooooong week.

Well, that part worked out pretty well....:bang:

Today's minor job while contemplating the finer points of over indulgence, was to flush out the p.s. system.

The fluid may have been atf at some point in the distant past, but those days were long ago, and I suspect the northern tards topped it up with whatever moose piss or blinker fluid they happened to have on hand.

Remove return line, (plug off port on res.) extend with piece of clear hose to a bucket, jack up truck, and cycle the steering with the engine off while topping up reservoir, until the fluid coming out is a colour you can live with.

Reasonably easy and civilized.
