Gigantic assumption here with a massive regression fix. It could be 50 other things. Sure it's a common failure point, but who knows at this stage? The air conditioner shouldn’t lose Freon. It has a leak somewhere I’m betting. I’d check the lines to the rear. It cracks and all the Freon leaks out. I’m guessing you need to cap it or replace the a/c lines.
It’s happened on all three of my 100 series landcruisers. It’s a common issue.Gigantic assumption here with a massive regression fix. It could be 50 other things. Sure it's a common failure point, but who knows at this stage?
You can look up on YT, hook it up and post some pictures of your readings. Set fan to medium speed and close recirc door to outside air check vent temp.Thanks. I do have some AC gauges but don't know what to look for for what is normal or low on freon.
Sight glass are no longer a good indicator of anything on a R134A system, reason why you don't see it anymore. Here is a free check you can do if you don't have gauges on hand to at least get you started in the right direction:

Telling someone to prepare to cap lines to rear is just a bit much. It’s happened on all three of my 100 series landcruisers. It’s a common issue.
