I’ve got a 1994 JDM landcruiser. AC is blowing just not cold.

I have tested the system and it has no leaks. The system is full of R134a.
I was told the low pressure line is clogged. I am trying to find a JDM AC diagram so I can pull the line and try to clean it. Any help is appreciated.

For reference the engine is the 1FZFE. Thanks again!

Search on partsouq and enter your vin it will show you any diagram you need.

...now where is that JDM service manual? I know I laid it down here somewhere.

I just looked under hdj81 chassis right hand drive I have no idea what your chassis is, but they definitely have the diagrams look under heating and air conditioning under the groups tab.

I wish I was...the only manuals there are the US variety. I know of one guy who has non–US manuals, and he's not sharing. :(

There are a couple of diesel engine manuals for the 80s in there, but no complete non–US service manual, that I know of.

Maybe @mudgudgeon has a source from down under?

OK, I spoke too soon. Heritage cruisers has a 1990 and 1992 HDJ service manual here. Limit the display to 80 series, you'll see them. The 1992 manual AC section starts around page 350.

Still no JDM specific manual.

it's a 1fzfe so is it at all different from the USDM? I mean an a/c system is only going to work one way using the same parts in both countries, no? :)

I'd stick a manifold pressure gauge then study the two gauges. Then compare those gauge readings to the FSM of your choice and start from there. Inexperienced A/C techs like us can only guess what might be wrong! Lots of info on the internet as well as videos on how to do this but the interpretation of the manifold gauges is key.

Good luck.

The 80s AC system isn't the best to begin with, it lacks the elec. cooling fan in front of the condenser, and at stop and go traffic or idling, the AC tends to get warm. You can add. a 100s pusher fan to make the AC more efficient. So the question is, is your AC blowing not as cold during stop and go traffic or not as cold during freeway speed?

I’ve always found 80s AC system to be top notch. I also live in a hot climate. It’s not uncommon for me to have move the temp slider towards the middle.

@HHR137 evacuate the system and swap the expansion valve if you haven’t already.

I used to think this way and added a 4runner elec pusher fan years ago in front of the condenser. After going to a turbo, and a RD radiator, i've since removed the pusher fan. This a/c gets very cold, so much so that the ball vent needs to be closed 🥶. I'm running 10k CST in the blue fan clutch.

Yeah totally agree, I used to run a Ron Davis, plus a 100s pusher fan from Landcruiser Phil plus my modified green hub with 12k oil. My AC was pretty darn cold. I have since converted to full elec. fans and controller and my AC is even colder. 97 degree in LA traffic yesterday and i had to turn my temp up as it was getting ice cold....

define "full" that means alot of different things to different people. does it means somthing is in there? does it mean one can was put in? does it mean that a full recovery and recharge was done to the proper amount? If anything is clogged the most likely is the expansion valve or receiver drier. usually very difficult to get a proper charge when there is a clog present.

Don’t think it will help to just pull a line and clean it on an AC system, you need to remove the gas then put it on a vacuum pump to clean it out for a few hours then gas it up again. To dismantle any pipes you will need new AC gas specific o-rings then you’ll have to put it on a vacuum pump afterwards to remove any moisture that enters whilst doing the job.
I assume the compressor clutch is engaging ? If it is you probably have a gummed up expansion valve/capillary on the high pressure side. Vacuum pump should clear this or a reverse blast with nitrogen.
Most auto AC setups are the same, you could probably find a basic diagram online or one from any other car of a similar build year .
