I've got the 275/70/18 KO2s on my stock LX and they are pretty great even in the snow. I also fit the same size tire underneath without any issues with my *presumably* OEM hitch. Once I get the tire raised halfway into the spare area I give it a tap with my foot to get it centered in the space. I've changed and rotated tires a few times and have never had or seen an issue with it.

That's how I raise it as well, but I have the integrated hitch in the center of the bumper.

I have 275/65/18....already wish I pulled trigger on 275/70 or 75s....rig in high setting AHC has room for larger tires.

I just took a look at my '05 LC stock spare tire, and it was almost touching the back of the hitch. Looks like it'd be hard to fit anything taller than the OEM size there. But I seemed to have read reports here that 275/70/18 fits OK at the LC100 spare location - maybe the spare doesn't have to be centered on the mounting bracket and can be pushed a bit away from the hitch?

With mine, the 275/70/18 hits both the hitch and panhard, but does squeeze between allowing it to be mounted. Over time, the panhard rubs the tire and on mine, it has rubbed the paint off the panhard. I will be hitting it with some touch up to keep corrosion down. To me, this means that it does not fit, but that is just because it rubs.

Low and high AHC. Just the AT Ko2s 275/70 18s on last week. The running boards are off now too.

Are you still running those 275/65/18s? If so, are you still content with your decision going with with 275/65 rather than the 'typical' 275/70? I ask because I'm getting ready to throw some 18s on my truck but having trouble rationalizing the added weight, etc, of a 33. For budgetary reasons the general grabber at2 is at the top of my list, and although I can put 275/70/18s (or even 285/75/16s) for a reasonable price, I'm leaning towards 275/65/18 simply because its available as a SL rated tire at just 42bs per tire compared to the almost 58lbs of the 18".

Aesthetically I think the 275/70/18 is darn near perfect, whereas the 285/75/16 looks too 'rubbery' for me (too much tire to wheel ratio). 285/65/18 might even be better looking (imho), but price-wise this size isn't worth it. Your 275/65/18s are the best example of this size that I've seen so far on here, thats why I'm curious how you feel about them now after having them for over a year (assuming your still running them...).

I had KO2s on my 80 and loved the look but felt that these picked up a lot more rocks than my Dynapro MTs. My driveway was long and gravel-ly so was always afraid to look into the wheel well. Anyone else experienced this? Thought about buying these again but now considering them Duratracs..

I originally went with a 275/65/18 (Michelin ltx m/s2) which was a big improvement over the OEM tires but within 18 months I moved up to a 275/70/18. I would've saved a lot of money going with a 33" from the start.

For any of my cars/trucks, the tires get cleaned, then treated with a low-gloss tire "shine" - best are water-based formulas that can
be cut to further reduce the shine - then wiped to even out and eliminate any of the shiny
Any specific low-gloss and water-based tire shine products you recommend? Thanks.

I'm thinking of getting the 275/65/18 in this tire, how you like so far? How do they ride on the road? Gas mileage hit? Thx

So far so great! Hey are awesome on the road, did great in the snow and I didn't even air down. Haven't had them long enough to calculate mileage yet.

This is where I am, too. I like the 275/70/18 KO2's but I am considering the 275/65/18 Cooper AT3's because of the the standard load rating available. The 275/65/18 Coopers are "C" rated tires and the KO2's are "E" rated tires. I just wonder what the difference in ride would be between the 2 tires. Obviously, the KO2 is an "E" tire and would be a tougher tire AND it has a 3-ply sidewall. However, My LC is my DD so I don't necessarily require the toughness of the KO2, especially if it means sacrificing ride comfort. I have the Continental CrossContact LX20 275/60/18's that were on the LC when I purchased it. They still have about 5/32" of tread left so I am in no real hurry to purchase but I do want to get off the road with better tires as soon as I can. The guy at DTOR almost turned me away when I pulled up in my current tires.

I like the Cooper AT3's as well (275/65/18) but was concerned about the extra weight (12lbs heavier per tire than my stock size). I'm leaning toward the Continental Terrain Contacts (275/65/18). Just for comparison: AT3's are 52lbs/tire (SL), BFG KO2s are 55lbs/tire(E) and the Continentals are 40lbs(SL). My Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's are only a few years old, so I still have time as well.

I posted in another thread that I like the TerrainContacts, as well. I just haven't found enough reviews to pull the trigger on them, yet. If they are what they claim to be, they might be perfect for me. Might have to take a chance on them and do a review on here. I'm dying to know how they really perform off road. My current tires performed really well the one time I went off road with them, but I wasn't wheeling very hard. The Cooper's have a proven track record and might be the better choice. Still can't decide on the load ratings, though.

That's great info - thanks for sharing. Ultimately why I chose to go with the KO2s at 275/70/18. Difference of only a couple of pounds seemed worth it to me, with the addl load if ever needed.

I'm also partial to the Goodyear Duratracs since they come in SL ratings at 275/65/18. I have six of these on my F350 dually and I really love them. When I think about load ratings, I think about my 10,000 lbs GVWR F350, not my 6,925 lbs GVWR LC. I use my Lance truck camper for traveling and won't be loading up the LC with very much weight.

I think I went off topic here, so I apologize.
