Hang in there.
All my projects end like this.
86tuning likely has the dizzy fix:D
beno's got a point on the grounds:wrench:
You'll be back on the road soon:steer:
When you have the 80 MUD crew on the job.:flipoff2:

Hoping to get back at it tomorrow

Thanks Steve! Thanks Beno! Thanks everybody who answered questions and provided pics...I was 180 off. Rotated it, put the distributor back in... Fired up, revs and idles like the day it left the showroom! Going for a
drive!!!

Awesome!:beer::beer::beer::beer:

This makes my day. I'm sure it did yours.:D

BTW, congratulations, too.:)

I certainly feel better now than 24 hours ago. I already chased down one coolant leak... But have a pretty good drip coming from the back somewhere... I will tackle that tomorrow

WooHoo! makes my day as well! I hope you congratulated yourself with a couple cold ones:beer::beer: It's after something like this that I can then justify a fun upgrade to the wife. OME, Fiamma awning, Maggiolina etc. etc. good work.

Tigli, I'm getting started on a delicious $20 six pack of Russian Imperial Stout as my reward.

And then, I'll pay off parts bill next month and start saving for a bumper as a real reward!

Great thread! Thanks for the boat load of pics & step by step write up.

Glad to hear you were able to get everything back together & running well.

Congrats!

Glad you got it going! It's a great feeling when it fires up right.

Congrats, nice accomplishment.

Question, is there not a way to tell if it's 180 degrees off other than cranking it and seeing if it runs?

Unfortunately I have ID'ed one of my leaks as fuel pouring from the #5 injector... I don't see any way to deal with this without removing the upper intake again. FML...

That's too funny in a sad way, I had the same thing, tore one of the o rings somehow, it is very annoying to have to order a couple o rings

Well... I have the TB off and got the fuel rail and injectors out without removing the intake... No torn o-rings... No idea why it was leaking. I guess I'm going to use this "opportunity" to address my failing wiring harness shielding that I overlooked in my rush to finish.

I'm NOT pulling it or anything like that... But looking for recommendations on something to wrap it with?

I just picked up a 2inch heat shield tape (forget which one), covers the harness and resists the heat. Just wrap it up and done.

I'm quitting for the day... I've been fighting with the MF'ing spacers that hold the fuel rail bolts in place for 2 hours.

I think I've pretty much conceded that I'm going to have to remove the upper intake again, to be sure that I get the rail back in properly. Grrrrrrr.....

String. I did exactly what you did and fought those MF-ing spacers too. I may have pics. I had so much fun I did it twice!

Look at post 51 on page 3 of my build thread in my sig. It worked great! Hope you have as good of luck.

Interesting... Will try that! Thank you.

Today's spacer struggles resulted in the first time throughout the entire project that I lost my cool and swung a maglight at my workbench.

Oh, and on that note... I was using a Maglight because I've somehow lost my Surefire G2 LED flashlight. Hoping it's not residing the depths of the engine bay somewhere. That's really got me boggled. LOL.

I'm taking tomorrow off from work so that I can finish this GD thing. It's SNOWING today. I said I'd have it done before the snow flew.

Hang in there, and think now you get to drink another 20 pack of russian stout. Where are you that the snow is flying?
