Yeah, mine is a lot more "peppy" without the top and doors.

congrats.
get ready.

Nice choice of card... I got my yearly reward on my AMEX yesterday....

It needs the balance of 100' of hemp rope wrapped in a figure-8 around the front bumper. Put it back!

Don't worry, I still have the rope. I will think of about putting it back on once I get my bumper reinstalled. First I have to bring my bumper extension and gussets to Lenny's at the next wrenching session to press them back into shape. It did look "Real nice Clark"

I was surprised there were no fat jokes about me or comments about John being just as much dead weight as the top from Bodean's post.

Man I love driving my 40 with the top off. I have driven it several times since adding the Lucas oil additive and it has improved tremendously. It still isnt perfect but I dont look like a mosquito fogger. Thanks everyone for helping me figure out the problem.

Good news Andy!

holy snikes my ears are still cold!!

so on the way home from the cherokee Andy's dash lights went out.....he quickly adapted to the new dark interior with a headlight on the steering column..............very "third world country"......

lots of pretty stars out on a "cool" ride home after a great dinner and awesome tire kicking session.....thanks fellas....good to see everybody.

Greg......the blue "Spivey approved" jacket price just dropped to a 2 hour wrenching session to get Andy's heater to work so my ears don't fall off

the ingenuity in the face of sudden uncertainty is truly impressive. ; )

Were you guys worried about breaking the speed limit?!?

Probably watching the coolant temps and oil pressure. Yea, thats gotta be it.

Every good pilot needs to be able to "feel" his aircraft, but it's good to have instrumentation to notify you of impending doom!!

I don't think Andy was concerned with any land speed records......

No I definitely wasn't worried about a speeding ticket. I was watching the oil pressure mainly because the temp and gas gauges have a mind of there own and decide whether or not to work. It appears I may need to look into the wiring.

mine to...:frown:

Might as well shoot out another possible "good idea". Pull the cluster and clean up all of the contacts. Could be the ground. The spedo cable can be tough to get off but it just unplugs. While you are there do the light mod on the instrument lights. This mod really gives you more light. A lot of people are putting led's in there to help as well. Do a search on here and you should be able to find it.

No NEED to search...ive taken mine apart and put new lights in Andy...we can do it tomorrow night and I can "pay it forward" for Rob getting me running again.

My wife just asked me why I was smiling.......

and im just sitting here on the computer

Bodean, I appreciate your "good ideas" and everyonelse's. I figure I should learn as much as possible from the experienced. Replacing the lights was on my to-do list, so now I may just move it up a bit to allow better night driving. I will check out the threads on LEDs.

fyi....i replaced the factory bulbs......but we can do LEDS.......wait..........you all ready have LEDS! and they even change color dude (post 113)

Don't forget to trim those damn tabs on the back of the gauge housing so you don't have to drop the steering column every time you need the gauges out.
