I was wandering about that myself. I don't think my dad checked it out real heavily as he was pretty sure he didn't want it. I didn't know if the tops were fiberglass on the fj45s. So it might be just a flat brown primer of some sort. I'd guess there's still rust, but maybe not too bad. The bed looks fairly decent in the rust category.

Oh, I think the owner said it was a '58. Does that look age appropriate?
Looks more like a 68 to me. I had a '61 which was the first of the 3 speed column shifts here in OZ and had "landcruiser" embossed into the headlight surround and still had the fj25 body and small clear lights below the headlights.

I had a 1965 FJ45 just like it 15 or so years ago. 6 months after totally restoring it I had to sell it because I had my first child on the way. It took me 3 months to sell it and I got $4500 for it which was way less than I had in it. I wish I still had it now but I like the 40 better anyway. They are unique though and these days they are worth quite a bit more.

X however many times on good deal... i live in MT so if you don't want it let me know where it is and I would love to check it out.

Masafi Rally Early 80's Dubai

This is from a local rally in the UAE, back in the 80's. It's not a 45, but it's an excellent picture. I think the truck was a write off after this landing.

The Co-driver is John spiller, who became the team manager of the Subaru World Rally team, and now runs all of the FIA sanctioned events in the UAE. Fantastic guy.
