Sitting at traffic light, had front and rear A/C on, rubber part of discharge hose sent freon into the ozone. I should have no issues replacing it but curious if there s a known particular reason why that would occur so as to address that before replacing.

Thanks.

How old is the vehicle? I've seen them leak plenty if times from the crimps, never seen one burst! Share a picture of that one!
2006. Original hose I do believe but I’ve got other LXs with older lines. I’ve never seen this so not sure if it’s due to age or too much pressure for some reason I’m totally unaware of.

age? wear?
the high pressure switch should kick the compressor off before it is too high, not certain of Toyota but other systems are around 250psi

Clogged fins on the AC condenser and on the radiator can also spike pressures, fwiw. In my experience this is a commonly neglected maintenance issue.

I don't think I've ever seen a burst discharge hose on a Hundy, geez!
