Hey everyone!! First time Cruiser owner and basically a noob at anything automotive. Forum was extremely helpful for choosing the right vehicle for my intended purpose and all the detailed write-ups have helped me greatly over the past few weeks in developing a loose build plan. Looking forward to learning new skills, cursing engineers, and exploring TX with my new money pit!

1st project: Took off running boards and had two problem bolts right off! But, they're off and now the 5ft 2in wife gives me dirty looks Everytime she climbs in. Looks great though!

Been down the "What tires to buy???" Rabbit hole today.:bang::rofl:. I think I've read enough opinions to securely say I have no idea what to choose and I'm just gonna have to pull the trigger and see how it goes!

haha, you guys are funny.. Add a snorkel, and she won't even want to ride in it..lol.. They warm up to the mods when they see how capable and reliable these rigs really are...

Soon you'll be told to stop looking at "IH8MUD", as you'll find so many mods and gadgets to add which they don't find amusing. Enjoy the truck and future mods, a very comfortable and capable ride.

Mine came with a OME lift, 295/70/18 tires, and no side steps. Mine just rolled her eyes and said "well at least it has a grab handle I can use"

The two front bolts are a royal pain in the ass.
And the women never really understand...we just hope they play along or don't notice the "small changes" we make along the way.

That looks just like my 100! Congrats on getting a great ride. Might want to get some front mud flaps on right away to save that nice paint?

FYI, not all spouses are naysayers. My wife really enjoys taking our 100 through the sand dunes and is an expert driver. She knows how special these trucks are (and the importance of good tires!).

She actually has been great about it. We saw an awesome BJ42(??) today and she said we should sell her Audi and grab one. I wish! (who needs a savings account)

Ordered a bunch of "goodies" today, some for me, some for the boss. Going to be fun been saving for quite awhile to make this happen!

And 4 rear view mirrors! Nobody going to sneak up on that one. It would take a very large savings account to acquire. Money that's much better spent on your new 100!

Keep us posted on the "goodies" you have coming.

Went hard today! Started at 5am finished at pm730! ☠️ Worth it though! List of what was acvomplished:1) Frontrunner Slimline 2 roof rack
2)Tenpui Kukenam Sky 3 person tent. 3) OME 2.5in lift w/ Slee diff drop. 4)PFRAN LED conversion kit for interior. 5)Vline Sq3Li Bluetooth emulator. 6)5W Cree backup lights. 7) Weathertech Floor mats and cargo mat. 8)BFGoodrich KO2s 285/70/17 w/ MotoMetal 17in wheels(got free!). 9)Virginia Tech Chrome emblem(very necessary) 10) Plastidip door, front grille, rear lettering trim. 11) bdhick's "TEQ" kanji letter front and rear emblem. 12)GoPro. 13) Frontrunner bottle opener on driver's side of roof rack.(key feature). 14) Strongarm struts for rear and front

Many directions were scritinized, many YouTube videos queued, many hours spent on those damn rear top shock nuts!!! Many beers will now be responsibly consumed!

Had the help of one friend, a pneumatic frame lift, and the great write-ups here for some of the more interesting moments of the day. Very happy with how things turned out as I've been planning and prepping for awhile and to see the end product is awesome!

As I said in my first posting in no way a previous gearheadguy so to accomplish everything with a friend of only slightly more advanced skill level(i.e. he knew how to operate the torque wrench) was very empowering and a great moment for me.

Still need to fine tune torsion bars, get alignment, and check k out how to replace front steering rack(looks pretty badfluids, dry rotted boots, ugh) but I'd say today was successful

BIG first step but the wife smiled when she saw it and I know we will be having all sorts of great adventures.
