Had a little convoy of assorted rigs hit the trail yesterday... Long wheel bases, short wheel bases, lots of articulation, limited articulation, we had it all. Was cool to see how all the different rigs did on the trail, flex, traction, turning radius etc... Here's a couple snap shots from the day!

How'd that 4Runner do?

with no lift, street tires and open diffs, and it had some problems, but made most obstacles. It just took more gas and approaches! He has the lift in his garage and will be throwing it on in the next couple weeks! Angle of approach was also a problem as seen in the pic below, lift and tires will help that! Oh and the plastic piece that broke of during this pic helped also:)))

articulation was pretty good for a stock rig but traction was a major problem, and I don't think it was limited to just the street tires! The Runner could have really used either a rear diff lock or crawl control. We are gonna run the same track again after his lift with the same tires and see how he does. Long term build is bumpers, lift, tires, wheels etc etc etc...

Thanks! I've got my eye on a Trail model; that's why I'm interested.

The nice thing about the runner is it was thin, came in handy a time or three! The trail model comes with crawl and KDSS, right?

Yes. Trail has crawl and KDSS. Kinda like a mini 2Hundy.

that'll work! Crawl mode was very affective crawling over big wet roots in the swamps...
