Mounted up the RTT to learn that cool new spoiler touches it when opening the back. Guess I need a new roof rack.

Tore apart the LC and started labeling all wiring for the air compressor, dual battery, Helton and blue sea fuse block on the back.

Rear bumper is on the LX, front bumper would be over but having a bolt snap it’s captive nut inside the frame rail made us stop.

Tomorrow I hopefully figure out the bolt and keep going on the wiring/water plumbing.

Sat/Sunday is diffs/suspension/rock sliders....

Without a doubt the most ambitious pre HiH prep work of all time. If anyone can pull it off Sam can. Good luck man.
No doubt. This one is going into HIH folklore.

While nothing will ever rise to the level of the late night cleaning of bathroom buckets at Ironton, it will be pretty special if Sam can pull this off.

Interesting read about last year's 416 fire:

Interesting, thanks. I bought my LX in Durango during that fire, and it was kind of weird to have to work around when the seller was able to be home.

Good luck everyone, wish I could join you.

In keeping with the annual theme of this thread and talking about getting some relief from the heat...here’s what my Weather Channel app has to say about the weather here:
A +11 degree “feels like” is horrible!

All wiring removed from the cruiser for dual battery, front locker and compressor and dual battery monitor along with the blue sea fuse block.

Front bumper on the LX with the new winch and it’s wired up and spoiled. It’s friggin hot. Quitting for the day. Basic clean up tomorrow in between work appointments then move to the shop to start doing suspension.

Hopefully the mass of Toyota v8s hauling10k pounds worth of s*** each with contribute enough to global warming to melt it before we get there

Perfect time to replace the ARB boat anchor with a proper @benc (Dissent bumper!!) 😉

So it looks like I might be able to join after all :bounce2::bounce:
Got an email that a spot has opened up and I have 72 hours to sign up. Now I had pretty much given up hope and haven't really prepped at all. My wish list is kinda long:

Essentials
Replace all coils
Replace serpentine belt tensioner and free rolling pulley
Flush transmission
Replace all diff and transfer case fluids
Replace cracked windshield
Replace MAF sensor (Engine hesitates when cold)
Replace Gas vapor canister thingy (strong gas smell and P0440 - Large Leak code from time to time)
Figure our why I get a constant drip on my left foot every time it rains or when I have AC on
Rotate/balance tires
Upgrade headlights with proper projector/lens (HIDs already installed)
Fix Catalytic converter shield rattle
Paint WKOR sliders

Dream list
Swap rear locked axle (it is on its way - expected delivery next week)
Rear storage drawers (we are traveling with kids under 10)
Camping fridge
Awning
Strengthen Factory roof Rack
SmittyBilt XL RTT
Dual battery setup to support the aforementioned fridge
Replace right rear door (dinged and scratched from previous adventures)
Adjust driver and left rear door hinges
replace door seals

I will start panicking now!

Well, my pace for prepping for HIH9 doesn't match @ENGINE er, but it's rolling along :)

Added a Harbor Freight tongue box to my little trailer (scratch and dent item for $60....only a scratch on the backside where it's not even visible). Picked up a 100W solar setup from them as well on a crazy ridiculous deal. Was $189, on sale for $140 (July 4th only) and had a 25% coupon! Comes with 4x25W amorphous solar panels, a "smart" solar charger and 2 LED light bulbs. I'll be mounting the solar charger and the 35ah battery I picked up in the tongue box. So, that's how I spent my Fourth :)

Now comes the fun part: since my tent rack has to be lower in order to enter my garage, but higher to properly deploy both the tent annex and the awning room, I've ordered 4 16" linear actuators that I'll weld on and hook into the new battery system. I'll be able to raise and lower the platform via a momentary switch. I'll have to do some additional welding and fabbing up some extensions to support the rack as well as weld in 2 more crossbars and fab up some adjustable L-brackets to mount the awning. Going to weld on 2 drop-leg trailer jacks on the front sides of the trailer and fab up some longer rear stabilizers. Finally going to put my welder and drill press to use!

Anyone ever experienced a LX or LC whos front turn signals stopped working but the rears work?

Fuse is good, but still no power to them.

I had wierd turn signal and light issues when my trailer light controller failed. Once I removed it and unplugged it everything went back to normal. Probably not your issue but an idea.

Man, I’ll take all the help I can get!

Got all the lights wired up on the bumper and cut the tabs on the bumper today. Then spent a bunch of time cleaning. If you don’t love @TrekboxX already then check out what engine degreased did to them.

I need some advice:
I am planning to attend with 3 kids under 10yers old. And we have zero camping experience and zero camping paraphernalia.

Are there any reasonable lodging options at Silverton or nearby areas? Are Durango or Ouray too far to stay?
