Looking to add a CarPlay double din to my 99 LX 470 without factory navigation. Previous owner ripped out the OEM sound system and already installed a Bluetooth double din, so it should be fairly straightforward to swap to another roughly 7” unit, but since I like to obsess over bad ideas, I’m now thinking about trying to fill the gaps left by the double din faceplate.
Seems like the max screen size is roughly 9”.
This leads me to something like a Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX, which has a 9” screen. Theoretically I could also do a floating 9” or 10” screen as long as it doesn’t stick out into my ORS dash panel. Has anyone gone larger than the ~7” on a standard double din on an early non-nav LX?
