Slick rig.
Don't forget there is a bunch of room in the pass. quarter panel & tailgate when you get to that part of your build. Do you have an air comp. set up yet?

I currently just have the ARB compressor I use for my lockers. It works okay for airing up tires, but takes longer than I would like. Eventually I will get one of those Puma compressors and mount it next to the pass quarter panel. Tailgate storage in definitely on the list too. I plan to get some marine hatches and do it that way.
Im really having a hard time wrapping my head around you getting 14 mpg. Im not saying you aren't, but I just can't see it especially at your altitude. Is this corrected numbers? If it is true, then you give me great hope for my future... I'm running 37s & 4:10s getting 11mpg on open roads. My rpm mostly is 2500rpm.
Im getting 11mpg as well before & after gears changed. While I see everyone said they get better mpg after gears changed, it's not happening to me. If you're calculating the mpg based on the trip meter then it is not accurate. Swapping out my cats and go over the frame next week. Hoping that will change. BTW, love it on 40s.
New shocks install. I decided to try some Pro Comp es9000s. Figured worst case they last a couple months, then I spend the money to buy some awesome shocks later. Plus I could try some 12.5" travel shocks and decide if I need more/less travel down the road. I got the model #929510, and didn't have to extend any shock towers, so that was nice. Couple flex shots.... and sneak peak of my upcoming custom bumper build.

Yeah, I don't quite get how some of us get good mpg and others not. However I do know I have gotten 14mpg several times before. I went 225 mapped miles on a trip back from Moab, and when I filled up had 9 gallons left. Averaged like 14.1 or something. That included topping off as well. Who knows maybe the 40s help
Plan was to make it as high clearance as you can get without bobbing the truck, same sort of thinking as @jcardona1.
I chopped over 4 inches off the frame rails, making it ultra high clearance. But trying to throw a spare into the equation made this hard to do. I was trying to figure out the best way to mount a tire for days. Having a swing out was not going to be possible because I tucked a 2x2x1/4" tube in between the frame rails and tailgate. So to hold a spare I decided to make a swing down, and just use a giant bolt to hold it up.
Fits quite well with a 1in body lift
Used a Trail Tailor Spindle, and just mounted it sideways.
Capped the frame rails. Welded some more 2x2x1/4" tube to the spindle, and added a brace to the right to hold it up. Sometime I will probably add another to the left for some extra security.
Finished welding everything up, added some braces and what not, then threw some black paint on it. Oh also got a tire! The bottom of my spare is right on with my departure angle off the frame rails. Its not nearly as close to the hatch as I was aiming for, but now I have an option to add a high lift and shovel behind the tire.
Finished up for now! Pt2 will be adding recovery points and a hitch, as well as that extra brace on the drivers side. Maybe a winch on the roof too, for lowering it down. Just takes a bit of muscle at the moment.
First problem I ran into was the two stupid cats. So I decided to turn them sideways. Currently also don't have a muffle - broke of at Wheeler Lake.
I picked up some TG sliders a while back, and finally got to put them to use. I decided to just weld them to the frame, and add some 3" gussets for added strength. For a cat gaurd I just ran one of the supports underneath the cat, and called it good.
Are you going to have the exhaust rerouted over the frame? I tagged the crossunder this past weekend and would like to have it redone locally if you know a good place.
Truck ran great down. Averaged like 13.7mpg for the 800 something miles there and back. I went with one buddy of mine, and we did Fins n Things, Porcupine, Steel Bender, and Hells revenge, as well as a bunch of other random stuff. Also slept on our roofs for the 3 nights
Not too many great pics because we were both driving but:

Yes, that is on my short list of things to do. I actually managed to smash the part the goes under the frame on steel bender. I have not decided on a exhaust shop yet, honestly haven't really looked around. If you find a good one let me know. When it gets done, I'll do a new y pipe (currently rub with the 40s when stuffed and turned) single cat, all the pipes run over the frame, and smaller muffler. Hopefully with that I might get even better mpg, and be a whole lot less likely to smash it up.

Sounds like a good plan, both of my cats were replaced the week before I bought it back in June so I'll be trying to keep them both. They are already turned so i'm hoping for just a cat-back rework for more clearance and flow.
Hackett Gulch run: My dad and I were planning on running it with @NateMob and his buddy, but things didn't quite come together. Bummer that we didn't see him on the trail either.
