I had received a call from a fellow mudder Angelo Aka doughboy we had met in Iowa on my Road Trip last year and wanted to stop by. We set him up for the night and While he was here he made the drive with me to pick up the LV body Thanks Brother  We picked up the LV body and met Dave another very cool Cruiserhead. on the way home we stopped by Spector and Angelo got a chance to walk thru Landcruiser Heaven. Then he was off to San Diego. So now I have this in the driveway and over time I will be giving this body a full resto :D

I was off work the next couple of days and With the LV this close we still needed to fine tune the 45 LWB ( thats what William would be driving to the 45 Run )
But now it was time :steer: William and his buddy Ben had been a BIG help I told them we were ready for a test drive and before I knew it they grabed some lawn chairs and called there other buddies . I grabed a milk crate turned the key and down the driveway we went :bounce: I made a right turn up the street made it about 30 feet and ran out of gas :crybaby:

Oh Rob remember the day we got the 45 LWB running ? I have video careful who you call an Okie ( which I am proud to be called )
Back to the story and guys and dolls its getting close to the end but still takes some excitng turns We went and got some fuel and jumped in the LV we were all smiling I shifted the trans into second everything sounded great as we turned to head back to the house from no where I heard a pop :hmm: then a grind next thing I knew the transfer case was screaming and there was a great knashing of metal :crybaby:
Nooooooooooo this cant be happening

This was now Thursday we had 6 days left and the transfer case output bearing was fried
That next morning William and I started early I had another transfer case in the shop :wrench: I had this one day off to get this done. Its was crazy but 4 hours later we had the T-case swapped out and again we made a run up and down the street. I explaing to Will we needed to adjust the brakes after driving the LV and check for leaks, loose bolts and wharever else we could think of After all we replaced pretty much everything :wrench: I left Will in charge and had to leave for work for the next 3 days

If I lived in the area, I'd be loitering around your place working on cruisers all day. It's a good thing I am in Colorado. I am sure all you need is a stray cat in a 45swb, or more recently my rusty 77. I love the pictures. Thanks so much for sharing and keep up the good work.

Later bro - Dallas

LOL :grinpimp: The Home for wayward Landcruisers ( The wife would love that )
I had to work out of town for he next 2 days My vacation started Tuesday that would give us 3 full days before we left on Friday for Deer Valley. We lined up the LV and the 45 LWB got out our tools and got busy I finished getting the seats in and started re adjusting the brakes, William also started getting the 45 LWB ready checking fluids and bolts, belts and brakes Then it happened :crybaby: ( see next post )

With 3 days left the un-thinkable happened the hills one block over were on fire we were told there was a chance we would have to evacuate . I could'nt beleive it. We quickly started putting everything back together as is. My phone started ringing and it was Rob ( calstyl2 ) He told me the wind was blowing the fire east away from us as the planes and copters droped water and fire retardent along the hills less the 150 yards from the house.
I called Tony ( Rockcod ) and he informed me one of the engine companys from his station was also working in our area. I was a friggin mess :crybaby:
We made it thru the night but spent that time packing and taking the advice from Tony and Rob and cleaning up and around the house. The next morning the winds changed direction and they were again telling us we have to evacuate . The day was spent watching and waiting . That afternoon they had things under control in our area
Thank you California Fire Fighters

The arsonist was a 15 year old from Yucaipa. His dad did not spend time with him wrenching on cruisers.

He was fine, I almost had to go over and stand watch with my garden hose...............

It only took about 10 calls to Rob to convince me :bang: But it was still to close for comfort and I was already stressed out enough. Its good to have friends like Rob, Tony, and Brian when your in a situation like that. Never had to deal with anything that close and I have to admit I didnt know what to expect.
Hell Rob I would have been calmer if you had shown up here with a bucket :grinpimp: Thanks Brother

Sorry I have been out of town working for the last 3 days,
The fire was out and contained, We had one day Thursday to finish getting both trucks ready I would have the LV on the traier and Willian would be driving the 45 PU. That was a long day but in the end we ad the traile loaded , everything on the PU was topped off or adjusted we were ready. All we had to do was get about 6 hours of sleep and hit the road for Pollock Pines. where my sister in law lives from there we would leave Friday morning for a short drive to Deer Valley
