I stand corrected. Thursday morning, The Mule's front CV failed and bound up on highway 29, and tore the nose off my t-case.
The CV did NOT fail.
The lower joint did cuz it has an improper angle and finally wore out from all the bad vibes all its lifted life.
If the CV failed it would have fell on the ground and slid off of the slipyoke leaving your output flange in good shape with a chunk of CV still bolted to it.
Since the lower joint failed it let go of the shaft and then the shaft flew around voilently till it finally ripped off the output on the Tcase.
The toyota CV is a strong part. Stronger than a Tcase output, Id say.
