Awsome build, your doing all the right things
Starting with removing those fugly white trash fender flares! THANK YOU!!!!!!
I hate those things. So much money just to for ugly crap to stick out in front of trees and rocks to be destroyed. STUPID!!!

Awsome truck though :)

were did you get the rear disk brake brackets? I have a ton of those rotors and calipers laying around.
thanks

Going to start building a front bumper soon, so tossed a design together in Solidworks the other night.

And put my crawl box together this weekend, going to order up a clutch kit and save up for drive shafts before I install it.

I went a little over the top on the picture... Had my black photo table on the work bench from shooting pictures of something else the other night :)

Looks great. The receiver mounted license plate is brilliant. I have to figure out how I can retrofit something like that for mine.

Thanks :) I wanted something clean looking, yet out of the way of the winch. Making it removable with the receiver hitch seemed like the best idea after a couple beers

Are you going to put the turn signals into the corner marker lights?

Yup, just trying to decide between cramming a 1157 in there or running two 914 bulbs. I got a couple spare corner markers I am playing with. One is mocked up with the 914 bulbs and I am happy with how it turned out. The other I still need to cut something to affix to the housing to hold the twist lock 1157 bulb holder.

Turn signals relocated

Ended up adding a 194 socket for the turn signals just below the running light. When I tried them out, during the day they were a little dim for my taste. Did a little searching and found some LED amber bulbs locally at Advance auto parts. The LED lights are much better, well worth the upgrade :)

nice re-build------my favorite year on 4runners-last year straight axles, 1st year FE.........i had mine since 1985 when i bought it NEW. Good job on your work.

Your truck is looking nice, got to love how many mods are avail for these vehicles!
I read somewhere that you had HID's with the roundeyes. Is this true on this 4runner or your old pickup? I am looking for what the pattern looks like with HID H4s and roundeye/hella housings.

Thanks :)

Yeah I do have HID's in my roundeyes, when I got rid of my pickup I made sure to take them out. I will dig up some pictures later and post them up. The first set of HID's I had were great, but after a year one of the bulbs burnt out. I contacted the vendor for a warranty replacement, and the style I had were discontinued because they did fail to early. My first set were true bi-xenon hi-lo beam bulbs. The replacement set moves the bulb for the high beams, which I do not really care for. They also have a reflector as part of the bulb, which kills the light pattern. Also the lights do not appear to be the same temp, they are off from one another. One of these days I am going to check a local craigslist seller of HID kits and look at what he has to offer in person, might buy a different set. Either way, the pattern is pretty good with the roundeyes, and I have never been flashed with them. The key is to take your time aiming them properly, so they are not blinding other drivers.

Great, pics would be awesome! I am hoping that I can go with the Autopal and a eBay set of Bi-xenons and make out for around $100. I would love to have the real deal with projectors but I am building this truck on a budget. Anything has to be better than these sealed beams. I am spoiled with my 80s silverstar bulbs! Looking forward to the pics!

And with HID bulbs on low, these are my older bulbs. Still have yet to take pictures wit the replacement kit.

Had a great time out on the trails this weekend, and we covered a lot of ground.

The MTR Kevlars worked great! There were a couple hills I was able to walk right up in double low, 2nd gear.

I got hung up a few times on my diffs, scratched up my shiney new drive shafts. They took some abuse over the weekend, and held up great.

Monroes off a f-250, I believe they are a 13" shock.

That's pretty smart as they are big bore decent shock and easy to replace... After running emu nitrochargers on a 4 runner we had a few years back I really like a steel dust cover instead of a rubber shock boot like you usually get on the pretty shocks so I've always wanted to try the longer stroke monroes on a build.

How do you like them as far as valving etc?
