Well Just about finished up the main stuff on the black 80 series engine swap. I'll be heading back to tinkering on this one. Looking to do my own paint job and new carpet. stay tuned....

I like big tires.

What other driveline mods you have lined up? More gear reduction? Chromo inners? Lockers?

Well with the TBI350/700R4 and the 62 series axles with 4.11 gears I really don't need much more. Those are 36" Iroks. Lockers eventually. Paint and carpet first. I have the 80 series I am working on too. Unfortunately I can't keep em both. They will both go up for sale and I'll see which one I'll get more $$$ for then keep the other. I hope the 80 series sells, but it will be hard to beat a rust free 60, sprung over with a 350. My guess is the 60 will sell first and for more than the 80, but we will see.

Anyone have ideas how much I could get for it?

did you do the AC in this? i just purchased a project 80 with an LT1 but they ripped all the ac stuff out of the engine bay

The PO did the conversion and ripped everything out too. someday will find parts and the junk yard and do it.

Looking good

I really want to know more about the v8, how does it move the cruiser around and what kind of mileage do you get?

I plan on doing a diesel in my "porkchop" in the future but I have a v8 at my disposal right now so Im debating to shove the v8 for now until I get a 4bt or just hold out and run the 2f that has a couple valve seals leaking that are starting to annoy me.

With 36" tires and a V8 your never really gonna get great gas mileage. I would estimate 12-14 when I drive nice. I love the sound of the V8 when I jump on it so I rarely drive nice. :).

It moves the cruiser with no issues. It is absolutely fun!!!

Oh and I go right by people up a hill on the interstate at 80. I'll have to take a video so you can hear it too. I have 88 TBI 5.7. It was carbureted. I would always recommend fuel injection. The TBI system is very simple.

Thank you sir, everyone keeps telling me to just go diesel and dont look back but they are hard to come by. Sorry for the hijack

I have learned everyone wants you to build the rig they wish they could. I say build the rig you want! You'll be very pleased in the end.
