We (my son and i) picked up a 1983 Toyota Trailblazer last month. It’s sitting at my in-laws property down near Beulah Valley (CO).
We drove to Taos New Mexico to get it. It’s rough but has a very solid foundation.
Plan is your typical old school Toyota Build. 4" leaf springs, dual cases, 35's, blah blah blah...
This build will be a little slow going at first as I will be swapping a new front axle into my Land Cruiser this winter before we get balls deep into this.
Also we're on the search for parts... Hood, fenders, doors, and lots of interior parts. If you have some or know of a part out let me know, please!

This weekend we went to the property to do a few things around the house for my in-laws and we also tinkered with the trailblazer.
It had zero brakes when we got it. So we got into the garage and I taught him how to change a master cylinder and bleed the brakes. He's never really turned a wrench till this weekend. He'd always come out to the garage when I'm working on my Land Cruiser or his moms 4Runner, but never hung out long. I've dreamed about doing a project with him since he was born, so this is really exciting for me!
After we got the new MC in and bleed the brakes we went to top of some fluids to try and get her started…. Put some water in the radiator and we found a leak. The leak is a missing freeze plug. I’ll put a new plug in next time we go down, but now I’m thinking about a 3RZ swap, or a 5UZ swap…

That's a sweet vehicle. I didn't know about the trail blazer from Toyota.
3rz is a nice engine and would be an easier swap than a UZ. Could probably pick one up for cheaper too but the power of the UZ engine would be miles better for daily driving
