82 toyota dual case issue

I Bought a 1982 Toyota pickup it has dual cases but the back case doesn't have the stick in it. My truck won't get out of 4wd what is the problem?

Seems to me that you just need to get a shifter for the rear case.

Rear case is the one that will select 2WD / 4WD. So without a shifter for it, you're obviously in 4WD without any way to shift it.

Look down the hole, if the shift rails look like this: [] then you are in 4 high, to shift it to 2 high, push the passenger side rail to the rear.

4 low and neurtral will look look this:

2 High like this:

Good call, didn't even think about just moving the rails thru the access hole
