Is it a two wire O2 sensor? I can't find it in my book and the knuckle heads at Napa say I don't even have one.

Here's my problem. I need to pass Ca. ssmog ands my exhaust needed replacing. I bought LC Engineerings header, cat, muffler and the port after the cat resembles the port prior . The sensor I disconnected past the cat is a long skinny two wire deal, not at all what I'm familiar with.

What the hell kinda sensor is it and where can I buy the newer version that will work in the typical O2 port?

Thanks in advance.

If this is a CA truck you will have an OX sensor. I seem to recall mine was mounted to the exhaust manifold. I thought it was a one wire sensor held down with two bolts.

The sensor thingy by the cat is not an OX sensor. As I recall it was some sort of temperature sensor. I thought mine was in the cat, not on the pipe.

Yes Pappy, your right.
Originally it was coming out of the cat and I just replaced that cat with a new one. The exhaust system was purchased "plug and play" and the old (temp) sensor is too long and the bolt pattern is different.

So did I receive the wrong cat, after cat pipe/bung?

Matt

I made a call to the supplier of the exhaust system and I received the wrong cat. I definitely think its an honest mistake given the age of the truck and that its a California truck.

New cat is on its way.

I normally get disappointed and frustrated when others do work for me. It's the lack of attention to detail and the need to turn a profit is why I do my own work. I hate hating myself you see so I do a good job.

I had done a search and came up with very little info and am a little surprised. Am I the only Caifornian that has had this problem. Maybe me and my truck should move?
