Hey guys, just a quick update. I finished assembling ALL orders for the FJ80.
I have to pack them tomorrow for shipping, they will go out Monday morning.

First of all I can only give the biggest compliment on the transaction and the quality of workmanship.

I decided to get the tail gate powder coated and opted for black with a "sand" finish. Also I opted out to powder coat the bolts and hinges as there did not seem to have enough tolerance for space and also the contrast is also

Mussy, How are things going? good to see you got it on, the powder coat looks excellent!!!

Anyone who is interested in the tailgate, I'm making 4 more, hopefully I can finish by next weekend.

This was probably my number 1 addition over anything else I did to my cruiser. It opens up so much room and really worked well. If you are thinking about this upgrade. Do it!!!

Finally got it put together. I added combination locks with struts to open the lid and keep it upright. I also framed the opening with angled 1" steel.
Thanks @socallove

Sick! Combo lock is a nice bonus, perhaps you may consider adding 2" U channels under the lid, that will give you more depth for rifles and extra storage.

Thanks, but my only other plan is to velcro off the entire underside of the lid so I can mount items on it. That's the main purpose for the 2 struts.
