Has anyone put a 80 series wheel on a 73-74 55? Wondering how it finishes out. Any strange gaps or issues? There are some really good condition ones on eBay, I like how they are simple, stay in the family brand, just wanted to see opinions before I throw down the money.

Don't know about 80 steering wheels. I've seen people install steering wheels from 60s. I used a 1980s era mini truck wheel after installing power steering, no longer needingthe leverage of the 55s "school bus wheel" and wanting some extra room between my legs and the steering wheel after putting in the F150 captains chairs. Bolted right in but needed to swap over the turn signal cancelling pins on the back of the center hub.
To each their own for style, for me, that would be a very heavy looking steering wheel in a pig.. I also think that the shaft cover would need to be swapped as I think the 80 is wider. Functionally, mine was great, on the 80 
I did it and was stoked!
