Good morning, I have an interesting issue. A friend of mine has a 94 80 series. He removed all of his ABS components from the cruiser. Now his shifter won't come out of park, and his brake lights don't work (he plugged everything back in and these two items still don't work). I have access to Alldata wiring diagrams, but they are not helpful at all. I'm hoping someone on here has ran into this and has a solution.

in the Resources section you'll find the Toyota manuals. you'll want both the repair manual and wiring diagram. all the steps for testing that circuit is in there

i suspect something is up w/ the brake switch

The shifter won’t come out of park because the brake lights aren’t working. Fix the brake light issue and you’ll more than likely fix the shifter issue.

I’d check the fuse panel under the dash and make sure the brake light fuse isn’t blown. Make sure it’s seated properly.

I ripped out and old alarm system years ago and suddenly had the same issue. They had taped into the brake light fuse and when I removed the tap it make the lights not work. Reinstalled the tap minus the extra fuse and it all worked.
