Always wanted on of these guys so when I came across this one on Craigslist for 3k I jumped on it and ditched my 06 Double Cab XSP Tundra that I had bought brand new, and never loked back. I'm hooked. Love it. An army mechanic was the previous owner and took good care of it. Sounds like a tank, hence the name, and there ar a few things that need work, but what do you expect from a 21 year old car that now has over 250k? This forum has been an invaluable resource already, so a big thanks for al the awesome people who contribute here.

Nice rig, but WTF is on the roof?

My guess is some sort of dolly arrangement for dragging a boat across sand to the water - those are definitely some kind of sand tyre....

My wife wanted a SUV. No way. Then we seen this on a lot. She needed lots of work and my wife couldn't believe I would look at a vehicle with this kind of mileage. But I'm not scared. We both love it. These are very hard to find in this area. Oil is a nice gold color after 2000 miles.

Dont think Ive posted mine so here goes:

I bought it off Mud winter '09 after selling an '08 FJ Cruiser. My intent was to pay cash for this one and wheel the crap out of it without concern for damage etc.

When I got it it had never been offroad which was proved by super sticky diff locks that wouldnt engage. Now it gets wheeled often and has some dents and pinstripes to prove it.

First pic is the for sale pic when I bought it. The rack had been sold seperate prior to me getting the truck.

Second is how it looks now.
