YES AGAIN

Well, I just wanted to say that this is my first time registering with IH8mud.com.

Yes, I'm doing it again. I've owned a 95 landcruiser for 6 years and let it go last year. It was a clean 95 with only 70k showing on the OD. I got a pretty penny for it and thought I was done with that gas guzzling pig!

But no, my cousin had to get rid of her 1997 with 170k(which is all black with the chrome package! pretty rare, my 95 was a green one, which everyone and their momma owned, EEKK). Just started a family and my Lexus GS400 is just too small to change diapers in:p. So yes, I'm gonna take the plung and take that 14mpg in the you know where ***!

I've always been a toyota fan and the landcruiser was always one of my favorite vehicles that they maden(next to the 85-89 4runner, which i've owned 4 in my past and built one for the rubicon).

Who knows, am I doing it for my family? Or just missed that FAT PIG?:D

Can I officially be a mudder now? PLEASE? I finally found one that suit me and my needs. I had to drive 1000 miles to get it but it was worth it. I will post pics as soon as I get her cleaned up.

1. 1997 LX450 Green over Gray w/LOCKERS!
2. Jared
3. Not sure yet
4. 167,000 (before drive home)
5. 100% stock
6. DD and weekend getaway buggy

Here are some details.
1997 LX450 with 167,000 miles. It does have the Magic switch that activates the LOCKERS!! Initially, looking at the pictures I thought it would need some tinkering. P0401 code, left birf job, small oil leak on front of engine, front seat covers, and no record of head gasket job. Well, here is the good news. I spent about 15 minutes wiping everything down. Trying to remove all the crud and oil underneath the engine and the birfs. Drove about 20 miles on a test drive and came back to find everything dry underneath. Paid the man his money and drove it to my cousins house. Picked up his wife and kids and went to dinner. For a total of 50 miles. Looked underneath in the morning, no oil, nice and dry. And the birf was dry too. No soup. So i headed home. Now i have a total of 1000 miles on it and there are a 2 bolts with a little oil on them. Could be residual or new stuff coming out. But the birf is still dry. I am hoping most of it was from the oil change. Someone really made a mess with that filter. Well, i also pulled a carfax report before i left. Turns out, the head gasket was done in 2004 at 117k. That was listed on the carfax. The front seats have no tears just ready for some covers. This is also a rust free truck. I got tired of looking at other peoples idea of rust free. Rust free means NO RUST. Not minimal rust. This one is truly rust free. Well, except for the running boards. But those will be coming off anyway. Great news for me i guess.
Sorry for rambling, just wanted to give the great news. I already have 1000 miles of trouble free driving. Oh and I also got 15.48 to 15.60 MPG.

Probably the best $7300 i ever spent on a vehicle.

Hello

Hello,
I am new to the forum, but not new driving Land Cruiser 80, the best off-road car ever made.
I have got 3 Land Cruiser 80’s 4,2 diesel 1996 LHD, 4,2 TD 12v 1993 LHD, 4,2TD 1995 24v RHD and also an Land Cruiser 70, 3,0TD
The 4,2 diesel suffered an accident last year and the body is been badly damaged, so I replaced the body with the RHD body, after I have change the fire panel and I am still working. I have a problem with the electrics and maybe there is someone who may know, where I can find a damage LHD Land Cruiser 80 4,2 TD 24v, for the main wiring loop, from behind the dash board.
