1994 Partially Restored HZJ80. $7500 (OBO)

I have 1hdfte that I can get Whistle and Soot mechanical conversion for 375 hp (h150f that could go into a package deal) as well as a built 1hdt (300hp) with an a442 that could be packaged.

New leather seats and door cards. New roof liner. New pvc vinyl floor liner.

Straight frame. Body work mostly done. Painted because I knew it was going to sit.

Howdy,
What is the history behind this rig? Concerned about rust from being run on the East Coast (salt). Which of the engine/transmission packages offered would make the best daily driver? I am experienced with the old 2F, but I'm pretty ignorant of the diesels. What kind of money would we be talking? What's left for work, I don't need pristine, just a good, solid rig.

These trucks were imported from Central America....so they have no rust issues. No winter there. Frame is straight. It needs lots of interior parts and love with plastic bits.

I have two complete diesel drive trains. 1hdt that is built with pdi intercooler and a442 automatic that was built as well. 200k miles, 50k after rebuilt. Coming out of a JDM rig that was imported and the guy rolled it over. If you wanted to go this route, would just sell you both rigs and you can use them both for parts to build the one. $22,500 for both of those together. The motor and trans had about $20k of work put into them and I have some of the receipts from the guy that I will pass along. And the JDM was a VX so it has 3X locked axles that can be utilized as well! And....you could part out whatever you have left when you are done to recup some cash outlaid.

The other setup is 1hdfte. Imported from Germany. Has 165k miles on it. Has some engine parts (i.e. timing pulleys, some of the coolant routing, pump) but would need the rest of the parts to finish it (timing belt cover, new rocker cover ...cracked, starter, alt, compressor, etc...). I have a h150f that you could put with it. Was pulled from another running vehicle. I have a center diff locker than needs rebuilt you can have with it or you can just get a new one. Comes with tcase and bell housing and all shift linkages. $17,500 for the truck, this motor and trans.

I also have a different rig that this one for sale. Its in another listing. Needs all its body work done and interior work done....so alot more work. But would sell it with the above 1hdfte and h150f for $13,750. It is also 3X locked, factory pto winch, factory early rear ac and heat too.

First setup would be an easier build because you have more parts and a complete drivetrain. But with 1hdt and pdi intercooler. Your about as max output as you can go which is probably 300hp.

Second drive train would be more work in the build but its capable of 375 (converted to mechanical) or 425 hp if ecu controlled when done. With the partially restored truck which was a base model 1hz originally, or with the one that needs alot more work which was a 1hdt vx originally.
