After a long 3-4 months, everything is coming back to normal and all the hard work working on logistics, finding a reputable vendor, product quality, and deliverables is about to pay off for all of us. I am now able to officially offer the mud community leather kits for their 80/100 series Land Cruisers.

Leather:
The hides are imported into Colombia from Argentina/Uruguay. They are then looked over in detail looking for imperfections. Once they have been looked over, they are then treated and go through a number of tests to certify the leather for automotive use. When the leather is certified it is then approved for use and they start the cutting process. The templates are then cut using a huge CAD cutter. Where they are then sewn together.

What does it mean to be certified for automotive use?

Leather in a vehicle is not the same as leather on clothes or your sofa. The automotive leather goes through harsher environments than any other leather. You have high heat if your in the south or high cold if your in the north. Plus the constant use of getting out and in of the vehicle can take a toll on any fabric. That is why your OEM leather has lasted at least 10 years if well taken care off. Our leather is no different.

Thanks so much!

Are replacement front seat foam cushions available as well?

I had sourced a vendor, but the quality and fitment werent what I was expecting so for now I am only offering OEM seat cushions. I will update the above post with price.

Driver side bottom cushion $195

How long are these kits going to be available? Not sure I want to pull the trigger this minute, but it is high on my list now that I can get something high quality.

Thanks, David

I tend to take things literally.........Did you mean NOW you are able to officially offer the mud community..... or NOT able to offer.........

Please see the initial post and edit for correctness unless you are NOT offering.

Fixed thanks for the correction!

Amazing what one letter makes for a difference. I was REALLY disappointed when I read NOT, then you listed everything, so I was guessing you ARE able to supply.

I'm looking forward to improving my seats, just not yet. Have the other critical PM's that have to be done first. I'm glad you're in the game!

Nice to see a new supporting vendor with this. I've already replaced my leather, but a couple of suggestions.

1. Post up a color sample of the colors you are offering if possible. For instance Grey vs Light Grey.
2. Grammar police - correct your spelling in your first paragraph - Where they are then sowed together. 'sowed' should be sewn. :)

Good luck!!

Thank you for maintaining high standards. I think good foam is probably an important component for a good install.

Any chance you'll offer a gearshift knob cover (Automatic) in the future?

Maybe with a zipper or velcro or something so it can be fitted over it and put in place without having to disassemble the entire shifting mechanism......

Great news. I almost pulled the trigger on some of the lseat kits.

Is the vinyl on the sides more or less durable? That's where my seats went first. Sliding in and out took its toll.

In comparison to leather?? The vinyl is automotive grade. So its built to withstand all types of normal use just like the leather.

Will they fit 1991 seats? It is my understanding the FJZ seats are different from the FJ80 seats.
I have both a 97 FZJ80 that I replaced leather on and a 92 FJ80 with cloth. The seats are different. I gotta say that these 24 year old cloth seats are in pretty nice shape and very comfy.
