Looked up " slower with better brakes " and this is what popped up...

So it seems my nephew has killed another 80.

220,000 mile 40th 80.......he said the motor started banging and it quit. He finally got it started and then it had no power but he limped it home.

I had him crank it. BANG<BANG<BANG

It has oil and oil pressure but it is a LOUD bang.

I think its toast.

What say you?

Noooooo! I hate to hear that.

I gotta ask.... How much?

Good. Let me know. There is a 15 year old brother we may fix it for if it can be done for cheap...which I highly doubt.

Bossman....I won't let another out of here for $1000....just too many parts in these that I/We need.

That said, I am not sure what a non-locked, engine blown, interior shot 80 is worth....damn sure not much unless you part it down to the small part.

Too lazy to search, what year 80 engine would fit in it

93-94 Will work but you have to use the 97 timming cover and crank sensor. 93-94 did not have a crank sensor. 95-97 is a straight swap or you can do a 6.0L GM ls, 4l80 and split case for about 5k plus labor.

It is in springtown tx under auto parts. Can't post a link from the cl mobile app.

White Trash of the Elwood Chapter, TORC4x4.org, Cottonland Cruisers.

Anybody ever had a rear main seal put in their 80. Mine is leaking a little. Not enough to even drip on the driveway, but if you crawl under you can see a slight film of oil. Someone interested in my eighty wants to know how much it would cost to fix.

I imagine a shop would charge at least five to eight hours. The seal is the cheap part.

Can you just include a new seal in the sale?

They need a 07 instead of a 97 if that bothers them...

According to Alldata the seal is $47.52 and the labor is 7.2hrs to pull the trans and replace it.
