Not super tech here, but I finally replaced the factory front and rear door speakers this weekend. Grills are kinda shiny, but they sound good:

I ordered a new head unit as well, but it got lost in shipping...maybe next weekend.

Props to dnp. I found your 'how to remove 80 series door panels' thread; no telling how much time and shredded fiberboard it saved me. Thanks!

Here's a link to my mom's 80 for sale down on the coast. It's an older thread from the for sale adds. Since the initial post the fuel filler overflow tubing has been replaced, as well as the radiator. There are now a few more miles on it, and the front bumper could use a fresh coat of paint. I put a new/reman Autozone alternator in it while home on leave the day after Thanksgiving. The battery isn't holding a charge. Price is negotiable, asking $3500 though. PM me if interested.

Yes. The front valance is notched. The front bumper was a one-off made to fit a winch as far back as possible. This made notching the valance necessary.

We can do that when you are ready. I got the kit and the seals. Plan on it after Christmas.
 
So it seems my nephew has killed another 80.

220,000 mile 40th 80.......he said the motor started banging and it quit. He finally got it started and then it had no power but he limped it home.

I had him crank it. BANG<BANG<BANG

It has oil and oil pressure but it is a LOUD bang.

I think its toast.

What say you?
