My '97 LX has developed a mild vibration while idling lately, not a bad one but just enough to be annoying. If I turn the AC off, it goes away for a little while but it will come back. Opinions on what to check?

Jason no it is not. Prinsu design
and this was the response they sent back this weekend...
"Unfortunately no time frame currently. Too many other projects and to many open orders."

How long has it been since you changed the plugs, cap, rotor and wires? Those small tune-up items made a huge difference in idle smoothness on my '96. (Be sure and get factory stuff from Beno. It'll make the job a lot easier, and you'll know you got quality parts)

4x4 Labs rear bumper question. I know some of you are running these. Trying to decide between the tire carrier angled back towards the rear window or straight up and down. The old design is straight and the new one he builds is angled. What's the purpose of angling it?

It looks better. True story.

Angle it.

I have a 4x4 labs bumper on order from Luke right now. I opted for the one large swing out with a ladder. I sent Luke a picture of this bumper and told him I wanted mine modeled after it.

Yes, I've seen that truck too. I considered one large swingout but was worried about the weight on the spindle and maybe an increased potential of rattles. I'm going with the double swing out but only getting the tire carrier for now, not sure what I want on the other side yet. There is a group buy ending today so I'll likely pull the trigger this afternoon.

I fooled with JTs bumper on friday and the single latch with both on gas strutts makes having double swing easy Easy.

As for the angled. Lame. Keep it straight.

The only thing I could think is that it gives a better descent angle when it's tilted. It seems a little awkward... but sometime I dig awkward.:grinpimp:

It just follows the angle of the back hatch to maintain visual harmony when viewed from the side.

When it's straight up, the angle of the glass makes the tire look like its leaning backward.

Its art. Or maybe science.

Got bored last night so I decided to try and fix the floppy vents on the driver side.
I followed BoltRippers instructions for fixing the flopping up and down. BoltRipper's 2-year Overdue Build Thread.
I copied the pictures from his thread since I didn't have a camera handy.

Start by drilling this side of the vent out.

Find a screw about half an inch long slightly smaller than your hole and cut a few threads off.

Put the vent back in the housing and insert the screw. it doesnt take much pressure to get the screw to hold the vent in place.

floppy vent fixed. Pretty straight forward.

Now on the fixing the broken blades. The connector bar to hold all the blades inline was very fragile and broken on most of the blades in the vents.

I searched all around to find a suitable replacement and found a small zip tie was just about perfect.

Cut to length and drilled with a #47 drill bit.

it was easy to mark my holes with a white zip tie so I used the white as a template to drill black zip ties.

All finished and the blades all move perfectly.

I went with the double swing out and love it. Luke is an awesome dude too.

Nice. And I see you flipped the spare to the other side.

I ordered one on Monday, double swing out but only ordered the tire attachment for now. Not sure what I want on the other side. I haven't yet decided how I want the spare, straight or tilted. He said I had some time to think about it. Prinsu rack and a lift upgrade may be next.

Today I start pulling the headliner, bumpers and sliders. Getting it ready to go to the body shop. for the hail repair and fresh paint.
