For the good of the group, I'm happy to report that the discontinued (gasoline) fuel filler pipe, 77201-60350, can be successfully replaced with the diesel model, 77201-60331. You even have the larger, free flow filler neck, too.

Note: since this part is listed for the diesels, which were not available in the US, there is no US stock. You have to source it from an international reseller.

I think we discussed this 10+ years ago when the gasser pipe discontinued. :lol:

Hearing that, I'm halfway ready to upgrade, just so I can fill up the fuel tank without it stopping every two gallons.

(No, it's not my charcoal filter, the local Costco just has their pumps adjusted to be WAY too sensitive).
 
Went this route a couple of years back on my '96. Not that it matters here in Florida but if you are in one of the less forgiving states you might not pass the emissions testing due to the flap missing.

California used to require a "dowel check" to be sure the filler opening was the right size for only unleaded nozzles, but they have never required the flapper be intact.
