Made a quick plexi cover for air box, the intake was so loud before that it was getting annoying. Its about 10 db quieter now.

I just did a quick read, awesome build, I will go back & read every word when I can.
This is a great build, most people cut the frame down, but I like that you didnt.
Im going to do an 40/80 build someday & will used this thread as a reference.
Are you rubbing the front fenders? Im sure you are...is lifting the fenders on the list of to do or are you going to lower the bumpstops?

Brought the truck to PA last month for our summer vacation week. Went wheeling at AoAA . Will need to install rear locker if i keep doing the harder trails.

Finally started on stretching the hard top. Using my old hardtop and my brothers old hardtop that he took off his 40 after flopping it on its side a while back

Had to fix some rust on the top frame and stretch it 22 inches

Been there done that, it was actually a very fun part of my project. I used three tops to make one, but my drip edge was junk. Luckily the front and back were ok. I used some tube we split with a jigsaw to make new heavy drip edge. That part wasn’t fun.

Build a frame out if wood to keep the gutter rail in shape while im splicing the fiberglass.

Is your shop cold? Might want to watch the temps when it comes to fiberglassing. Of course, you could easily know more about it than I do.

Ya its cold, been in single digits at night for almost 2 weeks here in CT. Told the wife ill be doing the work in dining room. She wasn’t happy about it!
I have a wood burning stove in garage, i run it on the weekends and got to 50 on Saturday

Cut down both fiberglass tops and set them on frame.
Will probably start fiberglass tomorrow. Will do the top first just with resin and than do the bottom with mat and resin.

Resin the top. Will do underneath this weekend. It was too cold last Saturday to do both sides

Moved it closer to the fire so it dries quicker
