Thanks for the information….very helpful. I’ve been thinking about one for the fire truck. I’ve seen lots of them around on different vehicles.

Hello,

Thank you for the information as well.

I think an Ecoflow is a better power source than a secondary battery. It eliminates the need for complicated setups.

Front Runner 79-series roof rack over the cab. Ezi-Awn 180* Batwing awning. It covers the hammock area so no problem hanging out or sleeping in a hammock in rain.

So we wanted to complement the bumper lights by adding a “3rd brake” light to the canopy. This came with x3 red led’s center and amber led’s on the outside. Our goal here is to make sure you can see this Cruiser braking or turning be it from the bumper or this led light on the canopy. However we also needed to mount the rear view mirror camera up here somewhere too. So we did buy this “top hat” style camera mount and then mounted it and the PVS rear view mirror camera like you see here.

We got to say we are not all that stoked on the camera being so “bludgeon”! 😑 It’s prone to getting busted but we can’t change it with the PVS rear view mirror as they only work together and not with another camera. So the camera and rear view mirror may change before final but this is all part of the process when it is custom built and getting everything “dialed”. The actual brake lights even being just x2 are plenty good as are the outside lights (rhs/lhs) for turn signals it’s just the camera we may change before final.

Here is our wiring harness being built for canopy “accessories”.

I prefer a marine hull pass through for body pass through wiring. This through Smartcap for roof rack lights.

Working on our mount, placement and all that for the Ecoflow.

Fridge, we actually need to flip it 180* so it can be accessed from the side.

We are going to do some trim panels inside the Smartcap. The canopy is mostly single wall so you can’t just drill a hole and mount something inside, I guess you could but you will have bolts through the single wall of the canopy.

So we are making some panels out of aluminum to serve two purposes, hide wiring and provide a surface to mount just about anything you could imagine.

Here is some CAD design. 😝

The whole Smartcap interior panel trim out stalled things a bit in the build. We just got it all back at like 4pm New Years Eve! Sneak peek pics with more to come!

Alright so a bit hard to get good pictures right now and the light is not the best but here are all the interior panels for the SmartCap being fitted.

I think I mentioned it earlier in the build thread but the purpose of these is to run the wiring behind them and to give nice surfaces to mount things to.

More to come next week.

Also the rear window “protection” panel for the SmartCap was a bit whimpy. Very thin (a lot of flex in it) and spaced far out from the window.

This mounting spacer put the original panel this far, 1/2-ish, off the window.

We had this panel made over two times thicker, we can also mount it closer to the window using these OEM Toyota rubber “bumps/feet”.
