79 Autotrader find - need opinions

Does anyone know this rig? or it's history. any thoughts on it from you guys?

That rig has been posted on the Memphis craigslist for a several days/weeks. I haven't looked at it, but if you zoom in on some of the pics, the "restoration" looks a little questionable. It is definitely an Arkansas antique plate. Make sure it is now in CA. It's possible, but I doubt it and they probably would have taken new pics.

The autotrader ads says it's in Marion, so it still local to you. I agree with you that the word "restoration" is being used loosely in this instance, but it doesn't look like sh** either. I'm a newb at this, so hoping to get some insights from experienced members looking at the pics.

All I saw was the CA address. My apologies. If I get on that side of the state before it sells, I will take a look and report back.

Is it just the lighting or is the DS door handle painted blue? Hopefully that is not an indicator of the rest of the restoration

I would say it is painted or not there. The lock for the gas door is missing. There is also a dangling switch under the instrument cluster. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like it is bare metal on the right rear where the 4 wheel drive badge is.

i like the way they p[ainted over everything... ummm nahhh it looks like a crapy paint job that they wanted to cover problems up with to get the most $. id pass, there is far better for that kind of coin.

It's kinda funny that the autotrader ad also notes that the transmission is an automatic, not once, but twice. I wonder that clutch pedal is for??

Also, good luck rolling up the driver-side window or keeping the gas door closed. These are not expensive parts, they are available from several vendors, and they are wicked easy to install. Leaving them off makes me wonder what other corners the 'restorer' cut.

Agree with crushers, cheap paint job refurb. I bet that ODO has flipped, too.
