I stumbled upon a Pig last week that's for sale and I'm looking for some advice on the potential value. I don't have a lot of information but I'll provide what I can. I only had a few minutes to look it over.

It's a 1978 and essentially stock. The front seats have been replaced, mirrors and front turn signals are missing. I think it has a Weber carb and it has been repainted. It does have some rust, lower fenders and maybe along the rain gutters. Mileage is supposed to be < 100k. It's located in Arkansas thus I would consider the rust to be typical of age and not salt exposure.

I know this is kinda sketchy info to gauge a value but this is all I have for now, and no pics.

running? registered? Is all the glass intact? hows the rubbers(doors and windows) and tires? how is the insides? How much is the owner asking for it? it IS a 78(cool if you like the novelty of a late pig, sucks if you have vintage based emission requirements........)

Probably runs but the owner hasn't driven it in about 3 years. The plate was gone so may not be currently registered. All the glass is intact and the rear window works. No emissions to deal with. Asking price is $1500. I'm tempted because Pigs are cool, but ... time .... money and a 40 that needs work.

For $1500 I'd grab it. 78 was the last year w/o catalytic converter. I've had mine pass with all the smog crap removed after just leaning the carb out. If it requires a visual inspection....that would be a problem.

Keep in mind that new rubber will cost more than the $1500 the guy is asking for the pig. Body panels, even patch panels, are non-existent.

Post up a few photos - we always love to see pics of pigs
