Sorry it took so long, but I finally found that speaker mount (no speaker). I'll clean it up and post a photo or two tomorrow.
Thanks but 77TLCFJ40 found one already. BTW, have you ever visited Japan since? I've not really had a reason to. I've been to the PI a couple times to scuba dive with a friend but that's it.
Bump. Haven't been able to locate a '78 bracket yet. Earlier models used a protective cover inside the glovebox itself incompatible with the '78. Not sure if the same design carried over to '79 and beyond.
unixman said:I don't have the original speaker, but it would be nice to install one if it still sounds ok. The OEM (not stock to my '78) mono FM radio sounds surprisingly good with an old 2-Ohm speaker connected. From what I can tell the original bracket looks like this one. Just no luck finding one yet.
I replaced my missing speaker with one from Amazon described in this thread: 1978 FJ40 Stock Restoration – 15 Years Long - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1978-fj40-stock-restoration-15-years-long.762631/post-9785226Has anybody ever upgraded the single speaker in the glove box? I kind of like radio, and I am not really interested in bluetooth options right now, as I prefer that it is wired.
Still have it?Have one and a speaker. PM me if you still need it
