Most parts are painted. They did the bottom of the tub tonight and will finish the top tomorrow, so I will pick that up next week. The only thing left after that is the fiberglass top and bezel. Everything really looks good so far. DuPont single stage enamel a little over 3 gallons to paint the red and a half gallon for the top and bezel.

Wow, that is purdy! Inspiring...it sure did take a while to get that done based on the previous post...

Cheers!

Yes 11 months, two different painters and a lot more than I wanted to spend, but pretty excited on how it's turning out. When I took it to the second shop they had 4 other projects come in at the same time so I just had to wait it out.

That does look really nice...I'm not a patient person (or very well funded!) though, so when I finally finish my metal repairs, I will likely take on the painting duties myself with a temporary paint booth in my garage!! I doubt it will turn out as well as yours has. Congrats, have fun re-assembling and then enjoying the rig.

PS: I hope it warms up in your neck of the woods real soon!

Cheers from the banana belt of SW Idaho.....

Had a local glass shop cut a new windshield using the old as a template. Installed as per the FAQ instructions with glass cleaner and 1/8" rope which worked great. Installed in 30 minutes and didn't break it! Too early for a beer?

I love fresh glass. To me it is as important as fresh paint. Congratulations on one more milestone.

Good to have it back on the frame!!! Paint shop did a pretty good job not perfect, but happy.

Ah, that makes me want to get mine further down the road on the metal work...but I must be patient! Congrats on a job that is coming along nicely! BTW, where did you source your stock steelies?

Cheers!

You sir are a lucky man! Those steelies are sure pricey for us who were not so lucky:bang:

Cheers!

PS: A representative shot of where I am in my repairs!

Yeah I did. your qtr panel looks good. Where did you get them and how was the fit? Mine had to be cut up a bit to get them to fit.

Mine are CCOT, I did those and the inner fender well tops also. I also need to do the mid-bed support as they are pretty bad. Have replaced the fender supports and rear sill which was quite a chore since I did the fab work myself. Non-stock, but it will last a long time I think. I copied a design I saw from a gent in BC for myself and it turned out pretty good..

made from 3/16" rectangular tubing, with a 14gauge brake bent cover welded and sealed on top. I hope it holds up!

PS: Fit on the quarters and fenderwell top was excellent, no trimming needed..

Cheers!

Going back together slowly!!! At Least the polar vortex is gone, actually worked with garage door open and no heaters going.

Thanks. The steelies came with it. Just blasted and painted.

Can you tell me what paint you used on the wheels? Seems that there are a good number of variations of grey!! And no, the color of the cap doesn't always match the color of the rattle can too well!!! I like the color on yours!!

This is what I used. I bought this from "Do It Hardware". I am sure its on line other places.

Very cool! Massey-Ferguson grey, I should have guessed that..:hillbilly:!!

Excellent choice!

Cheers!

Finally got hardware for the hood. Installed and spent several hours getting the alignment right. Bolted down all body mounts. Installed CCOT after market fuel tank. This tank fit right in place and cover bolted on with no problems. Finished all the fuel system plumbing. Installed rear gate. Next I will fab brake lines for firewall and get the brake system done.
