Jeremiah made a good call to add traction to the sliders and still keep the reassembly progressing...got some aluminum sheeting and custom cut a "topper," and then got those covered in linex. A beautiful solution to the problem!! Also working on the getting the harness and electrical system planned and laid out.

Just curious... is this process of getting your 40 built, like building a house from scratch? Like picking out the plug and switch cover colors and the type of shower valve and tile color and ALL THE MINUTIA? Or is it mostly like, this is the way we're doing it unless you have input? or some combination of the 2? Asking because while this looks like a dream for a 40 lover, it also seems like a lot of decisions that you gotta think through since you wanna get it right the first/only time! Great looking rig, though... seriously a dream build...

It's a combination. Proffitt's has a way they usually do things, but every step of the process is 100% customizable. We went over the build before the first bolt was removed, and have since made several changes that fit my image of what the truck should look like and how it should perform. I know one of the trucks they did a few years ago used aircraft style switches, because that's what the owner asked for. Mine has the K9 roof rack - another unique modification - especially for a FST truck.

Also - some of the things I *thought* I wanted have been revised after talking to Jeremiah (many of my concepts revolved around my prior build, so things like a York compressor sounded good, until the reality of using a brushless dual ARB was explained).

This isn't my first 40...just the first time I can "do it right" ONLY ONCE (kinda, since much of the work the prior shop did had to be fixed or modified to meet PRLC's standards) using top end components and a shop that REALLY knows what it's doing. Last truck was a true basket case...with stuff upgraded and then redone (sometimes several times) to accomplish what I wanted, but doing it on a VERY tight budget.
