72 FJ40 with no roll bar and long seats.

I just found a 72 FJ40 in mountains near Phillipsburg, Montana. Lots of body rust, but fantastic engine. Was used for years plowing snow. It has no rollbar, and the long seats. I don't want to move them, and don't care about the rollbar for safety, but I do want to put on a bikini top in the summer. I thought about just bending some electrical conduit.

Any suggestions?

I don't think you'd be the first to use (or at least consider using) conduit to create a makeshift set of bows for a bikini top.

I did something similar for my '72, but instead of conduit I chopped up a set of Bestop bows that I got for super cheap. They are heavier gauge than conduit pipe. I wanted something that looked like a factory soft top, so you may not need anything this elaborate.

Never seen Best top bows like that. Look close to OEM but not as refined. Here are OEM bows.

Bought a bikini top years ago made in Pakistan. It uses the OEM soft top windshield channel and channel on tOEM soft top door headers to secure the top. Really like the sides secured to the door headers. No flapping at higher speeds. Probably enough OEM style bows around that there would be a demand for a bikini like this.

That's because I hacked them up and re-welded them in a different configuration. I don't like the "fastback" look of a Bestop soft top. Too Jeepy.

I agree fastback tops looks to much like a jeep. 1994 someone out of blue offered sell me his 73 FST for cheap. Was my first soft top of any type. After that nothing else compared.
