the fuel gauge needle is loose. is there a photo somewhere on how it should connect?

found that image in the thread 70 FJ40 Fuel gauge mis-reading It appears that I need to stretch the horizontal metal piece on the right and connect it (place on top) of the one on the left. That is the logical step, just didn't want to pull hard and break or stretch something inside the gauge.

correction to above. the needle rides on both metal pieces, left on top right on bottom. didn't look closely enough at the photo.
